Zen Sanuki Udon Reviews
If you really like fresh Japanese food, that is the place.
It's the first time come here.Udon is perfect. Also the chicken is good.
Before I start raving about the food, I want to talk about customer service… I called ahead to place an order and the lady on the phone told me that they prefer that people put in orders in person… I was pretty hungry, but I do understand that small businesses need to protect themselves… The lady sensed my hangriness over the phone and let me order anyway! Zen Sanuki Udon offers authentic Japanese cuisine in a lively atmosphere. The restaurant serves a range of dishes, including Udon, Sushi, Onigiri, and Sushi rolls. The Udon noodles are described as chewy and soft, while the sushi and rolls are praised for their perfect balance of rice and sashimi. The Onigiri is noted for its large size and lightness. The restaurant's unique feature is its open kitchen, where diners can watch their meals being prepared. The kakiage udon (vegetable + shrimp tempura) is a simple & hearty meal, though some note the tempura could use more shrimp. The tofu, pork belly udon, and yuzu chicken udon are all wonderful, with noodles and broth made in house. The broth is mellow and subtle, a refreshing change. The udon noodles are different in a good way. The September special and Unagi set are good, with the set being larger than usual. The food quality is high, and the ingredients and flavors are appreciated. Prices are on the high side, with lunch or dinner for 2 around $100, but the authentic Japanese food is worth it. The green tea served is also good. Many say it’s the only place that reminds them of Japan. The staff is attentive and friendly, and their consistency is amazing. Making a reservation is recommended, or come earlier as they only have about 15 tables.
