“Went here for my grandpa's birthday, and it was quite the enjoyable experience. The service was done by Rei, and he was very generous and executed his job flawlessly. Easily some of the best sushi I've ever had. The barley tea that they serve is super concentrated in flavor, and I found myself drinking several cups worth. The tempura was very well battered, and my only disappointment was that my stomach isn't large enough to eat more. Would definitely come back here“
“I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place. I have been coming here now since probably 2017. It is simply put, the best chicken katsu anywhere in the GTA.You can get it in a dish with rice and coleslaw or as a burger. I always get it on rice, white meat.It is always perfectly cooked, the breading is so crisp and the chicken is always nice cuts of breast meat.The put katsu sauce on the top and you can also get a free dish of Japanese curry sauce to dip it in as well.The prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get.I recommend this place 10/10. The owners are so nice and friendly too.“
“Came here with my wife and three kids and everything was fresh. They had cuts of meat that each of my kids enjoyed which was rare. Side dishes like bibimpap was awesome! Our server was quiet but very polite. Place wasn't blasting loud music; which sometimes makes it hard to communicate. Will definitely come back again.“

“It has been years that I’ve been wanting to come here and finally an opportunity presented itself and I jumped on it. We tried to make a reservation same day, but the available time slots did not agree with our schedule. We rolled the dice and went anyway and were able to get a spot at the counter. The restaurant tables were all occupied, but there were always a few spots open at the counter with a constant flow of patrons. We ordered the oden as an appetizer to share and an udon each. The oden was flavourful, especially the turnip. The udon noodles had the perfect spring to them. The broths were very tasty and matched the toppings nicely.“
“My husband and I have ordered take out and delivery from this place many times and have never been disappointed. We decided to dine in about a couple weeks ago and we were greatly pleased to have exceptional service from the moment we walked through the door. Service was amazingly, atmosphere and ambience was cozy and warm and most importantly food was fresh and delicious. They had many vegetarian options for myself, so it wasn’t a struggle deciding what to eat. Desserts were delicious as well. Kitchen staff were pleasant and the head chef/ owner was a friendly and polite individual who answered all of our questions without hesitation. “Karl, our server, was superb! Anticipated our needs and what our young kids will need. Very nice guy! Great service! Even if it’s lunch, we got the dinner menu for AYCE. So much food selections for kids and adults. Food was great! Good portion size and whatever you ordered comes. Not like other AYCE places where they cut you off if you order a lot, or the portion size is super small so you need to order more but you don’t get everything. The thickness of the sashimi is regular sized, the portions of the rolls are generous. The bbq pork buns were good too. We had the sweet sour rolls, szechuan special roll, and the diamond special roll. Everything was great! So happy we found a good ayce restaurant. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Nice ambience. Very kid friendly! Again, thanks to our server Karl for making our dining experience with young kids so easy and enjoyable (those parents with young kids 5yrs old or less will know what I mean).Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly! “The sushi was beautifully presented and what you would expect form a sushi spot. If you're craving sushi and you're nearby I would stop by! Bento boxes are also great. The place is a bit small so if you have a big group you should probably do take out. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that I felt like the service could have been a bit more attentive and the chairs are quite uncomfortable.“

“Loved the sushi here, everything was really fresh and came quickly. Staff was very polite and kind. We got the Aburi sushi tray, Seared spicy mix, Seared ebi salmon, Hakata miso butter ramen with thick noodles and Chicken Karaage. Originally we thought it wouldn’t be enough but we had left overs. Portions were good, they even give us a cute mini bottle of soy sauce for our left overs. My favorite was the seared spicy mix, definitely want to try their sashimi trays next time. They also give complementary salad and ice cream. They do have a 1 and half hour seating limit for groups smaller than 4. Would definitely recommend making reservations before going.“
“My first omakase experience. Chef Kazuki was very friendly and inviting. All his staff were pleasant and did not miss a beat in service. The 18 course Yuki menu was well prepared with a diverse selection. My favourite was the cherry trout and the optional order of uni. Highly recommend this unique experience.“

This has not become our go-to sushi spot for take out and it honestly trumps so many sit-down sushi restaurants. Can't get a better deal anywhere else for the delicious sushi you get here! Also the sauce they make for their spicy rolls is ACTUALLY spicy!“

“it was my first time coming to Gyu Hito, but I’m accustomed to eating at Japanese/Korean grills. The atmosphere is nice, but where we were sat was underwhelming since they seem to have beautiful decor, but literally just in front of the entrance and felt the cold air.Service also was unsatisfactory for some of their staff. Only one was very accommodating and kind. However, other waiters/waitresses were hard to come by despite us sat near the entrance of the restaurant. I even witnessed my boyfriend waving in front of the waiters only for them to wave back, but not accommodate us. We waited quite a while for our second to last and last order. We placed our order and 10 minutes later there was no food. The one waiter I called wasn’t helpful and said he’ll get our original waitress. Another 10 minutes came around no food and no waitress. So when she did come around and I explained that we haven’t gotten our food yet, she said she’ll check. She did come back in a timely later, but just said that it’ll be a minute. Obviously it wasn’t a minute. So while the other table was finished eating and onto dessert was when our food came. I am annoyed at this point because the food came late and the amount they gave us was doubled because both orders came at the same time instead of in different rounds. When I said we didn’t order this much, the waiter talked back and said we did. If only I could explain to him that the food he gave us were ordered individually - almost 20 minutes apart, but I held back as I was in a party. But for him to deny it right away is not very accommodating and honestly kind of rude. He ended take most of the food back since our hunger has surpassed, but left some so we could enjoy the last of our meal. Anyways, shout out to the one waitress who we sadly met at the end who got to us attentively and kindly. Others should learn from her.Food was decent. Not the most mind blowing flavour wise. However there was variety.Would I come back? Probably not. But if I do I hope the waiting staff are trained better and work on their time management.“

“Went in for dinner with the family, it wasn’t busy. Just one other table and us. We ordered sushi and shrimp tempura. All food was so fresh and flavourful. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. It’s just the two of them so it might take a bit more time for dishes to arrive at your table but believe me it’s worth the wait.“
“Don't judge a book by its cover! Despite our initial skepticism, our hunger and rush led us to this small, unassuming sushi place. I couldn't help but question my friend's choice, but boy, were we in for a pleasant surprise. The service was outstanding, and the sushi exceeded our expectations. I regret not capturing the moment with photos because it was simply fantastic. We particularly loved the Philadelphia rolls; they were absolutely amazing. “Kiddo is in a hotpot/noodle mood tonight but we don’t really have the appetite for AYCE so we decided upon Yabu for a shabu-for-one.The pot came beautifully presented and piled with vegetables. The meat you choose will be served raw on the side for you to add to the pot when the broth is back to a boil. My choice of broth (soy) is very delicious and the portion is very satisfying.Our server is very friendly and checks in frequently to make sure we have everything we needed. All good - but what impressed me was the both the quality AND quantity of food. “I always get bubble tea from here; tea, smoothies and slushies! Honestly a hidden gem for bubble tea. They use real fruit in their smoothies, let you substitute milk for soy/almond milk, and their tapioca is always soft and cooked properly. Lots of flavours that the girl at the counter lets you mix if you ask. Girl who is usually at the counter is so sweet! Sushi is great too, they even have a separate vegetarian menu now“

The sushi rolls lacklustre and the shrimp dumplings bad. No non stick in the bottom of the steamers, all the dumplings splint as they were stuck to the bamboo steamer.“

Not necessarily looking for the after 5pm special.Salmon is always buttery - they use fresh fish allll the time in my opinion & Spicy salmon roll is so flavourful.I have a better time with Mac Sushi over some of my typical sushi restaurants. I hate thick cuts of salmon so Mac Sushi knows that they are doing and knows how to cut a decent piece of fish for eating.The customer service is always great, I’m never rushed, the attendants are patient with me and so kind.I have my go to spots to get a nice snack at the STC and Mac sushi is one of them. The price is also decent for me. No complaint on pricing. Also always so clean!“

“Pretty good AYCE, can’t point my finger at anything (inherently) bad about my experience there.Went weekend late afternoon and the dishes were served surprisingly promptly and all of them felt fresh, despite the (very) crowded dining area at the time.The small-ish potion size for the rice was a minor hassle but then again I’m not used to Japanese cuisine (yet) so that might’ve been a norm. Was also a quick learning as you can just order multiple servings in one go.Used up plates were cleared out extremely quickly. They have enough ppl literally patrolling the dinning area for this as well as refill/other stuff, but they stay far enough away for your privacy.I went to scout the place out as a potential gathering spot for my huge group. Needless to say I was more than satisfied. Great experience.“
“Came for their $19.99 basic lunch AYCE and ordered two soup base, the total was around $30. Although basic set only include three kinds of meat and three kinds of sea food, me and my frds had a really good time enjoying the food in 2hrs. The overall experience is really good and will definitely come again!“
