“I have been going to Franklin House for over 10 years. The group to which I belong reserved the upstairs party room nearly every month for a cultural talk or a movie and every December for a Solstice get-together. The place was good, convenient and the availability of the screen in a private area made the place essential for us. I knew many of our members complained about the (inconsistent) food quality, but we put up with it because of its other advantages. After the pandemic, and also possibly due to (lets say) miscommunication, we stopped going there.

This changed drastically with the change in ownership nearly two years ago. The new owners, Sunanda and his partner Amrita are both very friendly and very helpful, and are keen to improve and restore the reputation of this historic pub. There has been much improvement since then. The old menu that included many disappointing items, was pared down to essentials that they make well. I particularly like their Ghost Burger and their Himalayan Momo.

Based on this notable improvement, a friend of mine who used to attend the events that I organized, now hosts a separate group to which I belong there at the Franklin House. Good reputation travels by word of mouth.

“This was a birthday dinner for our granddaughter with our grandson (her cousin), Everything was exceptional with a very perky and competent server (wish I had gotten her name). Please pass on our compliments to her. We forgot about the birthday treat until we saw another table with it but it was a legitimate birthday (actual date was today). My wife and I particularly enjoyed the Sicilian menu as we toured Sicily in late May and were familiar with most of the dishes. Thankfully, a Sicilian speciality (horsemeat) was absent from the menu! We will be back after this memorable evening.”

I have no doubt he’ll thrive and excel in this field. Desi Bar & Grill is hands down the most lively pub I’ve experienced in Canada in my more than half a decade here. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves great vibes, amazing food, and top-notch service. Five stars all the way!”

“When you are in the Mississauga area, you guys have to try Gladiator Burger! We have had a couple of really great meals here so far.
The chicken in any form is so delicious and if you get it spicy it just adds that amazing extra kick!
Also, the beef burgers are juicy and meaty.
The sides are plentiful and so great if you have a fry craving.
The desserts were also delish! The pistachio Tres Leches was so creamy and just the right amount of sweet.
Finally, the service was so great. Everyone that works here is attentive and makes sure that everything is great!
Please! Come visit! We would definitely make this a regular place if we lived in town!”

I ordered the True Emperor with beef and chicken, and it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were great, the portions were generous, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals.

“Just came back from a celebratory birthday lunch! I have to say this place is AMAZING. Thank goodness they are only 10 mins away from me! Right away I noticed the lovely decor and ambiance! And they have the CUTEST authentic hand crafted ramen spoons! We had the meal for 4 which was absolutely PERFECT for us. The broth in all the dishes was excellent with just the perfect amount of spice. Love the vegetarian options! We had great service and food was served promptly. Will definitely visit again! The sandwich was very good quality, with lots of tender chicken breast meat inside cooked fresh to order and served in a tasty brioche style bun with the usual burger toppings and their own burger sauce - reminds me of Big Mac sauce but very good !
