“Had a breakfast earlier today (Sunday, Sept. 07, 2025) and it was an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning to the very end. The food was outstanding! The service was excellent! “My girlfriend and I had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon at Schmaltz. She had been here before and wanted to bring me for some fresh bagel sandwiches. They did not disappoint. The shop is tucked around the corner of Dupont and Howland. The bagel shop itself is pretty small but the owners have some good things going on in here!

My girlfriend made her own sandwich with Novalox, cucumbers, scallion cream cheese on a sesame bagel. She had no notes for her sandwich. It came to around $24.

I had the Klutz sandwich with the hot smoked turkey, scallion cream cheese, mustard and pickles on an everything bagel. It was huge and super tasty!! The bagel was soft and the hot deli meat was tasty and fresh. It came to around $23.

The two people that served us were very kind, specifically the man behind the cash register - he was chatty and sweet! Made our experience too notch!

At the back, they have a cute little heated patio with big wooden tables where we were able to sit! I would love to come back in the summer to see their outdoor garden patio!!“

Their feta and potato sesame pastries are nostalgic to my childhood. DANGEROUSLY GOOD!

And they upped their coffee takeout containers to a high quality cup and I am impressed. Just wish there was more as its so delicious. Drip coffee is full body and high quality imo“

“Love this family owned bagel spot! I’ve had amazing customer service every time I’ve visited. The bagels are always fresh, and the bakery products are consistently amazing. It’s clear they care about quality and their customers. I’ll definitely continue to be a regular and highly recommend this place to everyone!“

“I can't tell you ..... you just got to go.... you won't find a better begal ever. There us something about this begal when there still warm that can not be explained. It's just wow. I just wish they had another location preferably in Scarborough as we have no begal shops at all... like real shops that bake begels. Please consider another location it's not the same as getting your begals in McEwan or highland farms as they just can't compare to the feshly baked ones.“

“It was delicious! They make awesome sandwiches. Unfortunately I had to remove one star because I thought the sandwich was too small for $10, it was just a regular size. I would have expected the sandwich to be bigger for that price, as I was still hungry after eating it. However the flavours were fantastic.“

“They have excellent bagels here. This is what you should come here for as they are absolutely delicious. No doubt some of the best in the downtown core.

However, I personally wouldn't order the soup or salad here again. The Caesar salad was not good, and the soup is straight from a can.

I can think of a few soup recipes that would actually be possible to prepare in that small space, in virtually no time, without a lot of ingredients, and without a stovetop.“

“If you haven't had Bubby's New York Bagels, you're missing out!! Must try Bagel Shop! My favourite spot in Toronto for fresh bagels and breakfast pastries. I don't know how they make the bagels as good as they do, but I love them for doing it! The cinnamon buns are so massive and delicious its incredible. I recenlty did a breakfast catering order and people were literally running to the table becasue of how good the pastries looked! And then they ran back twice as fast when they tasted how good they were! Can't wait to order again!“

“Got a Too Good to Go order and they gave me 18 bagels (and a chocolate chip cookie), the value for money is insane, I just finished the bag yesterday. Even after 2 weeks, the bagels still tasted great and my family loved them. I'm gonna keep an eye out for more TGTG bags in the future, would definitely come back.“

“My husband and I are huge fans of Amber. Food is incredible (for breakfast, lunch, or dinner), the staff are super friendly, and the place and ambiance are great. Particularly during the hot months when they have the patio outside. I know they are more known for the coffee and brunch food, but I highly recommend the rest of the menu. I find the fusion so fresh and contemporary. The food has an international flavour, with their Easter European and Middle Eastern touch (the chef used to be the executive chef at Parallel on Geary Ave). Highly highly recommend it!“

They have all kinds of bagels you needs with so many different cream cheese options to choose from.

The couple who work here are warm, welcoming, and always ready with a smile. You can see how hard they work and how much love and effort they put into the food they serve.
