“In a downtown area where there are 4 subways in close proximity, the location on church stands out like a diamond in a garbage dump. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with great workers. The manager Roki is very hospitable and sweet. The service is quick, compared to the other subways in the area, and is always a great place to enjoy my lunch break. If I’m ever in a bad mood, it’s almost like they can sense my troubles, and fill my sandwich up, as well as ask me how my day was. It is so easy nowadays to fill these institutions with minimum wage teenagers, who aren’t the most respectful. But this subway sticks out like a sore thumb in the best of ways. I really think the church area is plagued by homeless and a bad reputation, but this subway maintains cleanliness that contrasts the unfortunate circumstances of the area. The manager and workers who show up every day and know me have become friends of mine, and are their kind hearts are evident all the time, helping homeless people with free meals and drinks aiding them in their time of struggles. He recommended the toppings and asked if I had any preferences, when I told him I was open to his suggestions, he put together the sub and grilled it for it to go to the next level! “Posting this review a bit late. I visited on the night of October 24th, and both the service and food were excellent. The staff member who served me, Sahil (if I’m not mistaken), was very attentive. He treated me kindly and customized my sandwich exactly to my preferences.“

A few months ago, I visited this Subway around 8:05 AM, expecting it to be open and ready for service as advertised (8:00 AM). Unfortunately, at that time, the staff was still cleaning, and I was asked to wait 15 minutes before placing an order. The toaster also needed another 10 minutes to heat up. It felt like the store wasn’t genuinely ready for customers, and I left quite disappointed.
Based on that experience, I left a critical review and didn’t intend to return.
However, I happened to stop by again recently—and to my surprise, the experience was noticeably better. The young woman at the counter—who I realized was the same person from last time—recognized me instantly. She took the initiative to call her manager without me saying a word. That gesture caught me off guard, in a good way. Honestly, I felt a little bad afterward because she clearly remembered the situation and wanted to make things right.
The manager came out, kindly asked if everything was okay now, and mentioned he had seen my review. He explained that it does take some time to get things up and running in the morning. While I still believe an 8 AM opening should mean being fully ready by that time, I genuinely appreciated their effort to acknowledge the feedback and follow up in person.
Also, credit where it’s due: the staff member who makes the subs was not only proactive and professional—but I’ll admit—she’s also pretty cute lol 😊

“Big shoutout to Jack. Called at 12:55 am (subway was scheduled to close at 1 am) & he took a large order down for me which I needed to pick up in the morning.
I was skeptical that anyone would answer the phone (based on my experience at other subway franchises) but Jack went above and beyond. He took my order down calmly, kept a very professional tone & helped me process the order just in time - he did not rush me even though it was the end of his shift.
This level of customer service should be recognized and greatly rewarded (& customers like me should typically plan better lol)“

“This place would be one of the better subway locations, I often find myself ordering a crispy chicken bacon ricebowl with double meat and every time I tend to have a good interaction with the employees. The people working here on June 6th at 5:29pm in the afternoon shift were super kind. I forgot to mention that I wanted rice and they added it without any issue. They were very welcoming and provided a genuinely good customer service experience“

Visited this Cabbagetown Subway and was genuinely stunned—not by the food (which was great), but by the immaculate environment. The entire place sparkled. Floors so clean you could eat off them. Zero odour. Everything perfectly arranged and shining.
I asked the staff who was responsible—and his name is Darsh. He had just finished mopping, and you could tell this wasn’t just a job to him. It was care. It was pride.
Darsh is the kind of person who restores your faith in customer service. This location should be a training ground for how food establishments ought to be run.
