“Came all the way from Ottawa. This is our 2nd time. During lunch time they have Thali. All the vegetables and meat had Authentic srilankn Sinhalese taste. Portion sizes are really worth for the price. Also their hoppers and Lankan pancake is really yummy. Chai also very quality. Will definitely come next time. There is Sri lankan lady there called Pamoda who served us really well. Very good customer service.“

“We visited Desi Bar & Grill yesterday on 14 Dec 2024. The experience was worth mentioning as the Desi Bar & Grill's Interior was quite impressive, with the relaxed feeling of an entertaining restaurant with the food, bar service, and server courtesy. It deserves a stars (*****) rating except for one suggestion. It is nice to hear the ever-green Indian Songs except for the loudness associated with the noise this created necessitating keeping it low will be dignified and relaxing for distinguished visitors to engage in audible mutual conversation rather than put restraint and blockage by loud music. Running of soft Indian 'Gazals' will add to the environment apart from Punjabi/Hindi songs.“

“I mostly eat non veg when i eat out but this place is an exception. It is vegetarian but the chap options it has are really tasty - trust me you wont miss the meat. Seating is small but the food is excellent. Owner is a very nice gentleman too.

“Feb 18 2024 This was my first experience having South Indian cuisine. We relied on the expert recommendations from our server Akeel. The Dosas, Pav Bhaji, Spiced Lassi and Mango lassi were delish!! “We were in the area & was in the mood for Biryani. We ordered boneless chicken biryani &Cashew paneer curry. Both were delicious. Slow cooked & flavorful. We also had Cahi which complimented the dishes very well. The only thing I would suggest to get a bit more portion for the rice that came with the paneer curry. The service was wonderful as well. The girl who took our order was friendly.“

Wanted to share an incident - I erroneously ordered a bucket that serves 5 instead of one that serves 3 for takeaway. Since it was completely in error they just charged me for smaller container. Me and family had a great experience The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor.

Their service was quick and friendly, making the whole experience even better.

The variety on their menu is impressive, and everything I tried was really tasty.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone for good quality and authentic food.

Couldn’t capture everything we ate but enough to understand how good it was.

Also it felt like old school authentic local food places where you get those 90s or early 2000s vibes. :)

“Ordered the butter chicken roti and the street samosa and really enjoyed both, I'll be back. The butter chicken is delicious, though next time I'll add chick peas or something more on the filling. What you get is exactly as described - butter chicken in a roti wrap - and it could get messy. The street samosas were two samosas smashed, sliced and coated in sauces, sort of like a taco-bowl. Also delicious, and a big portion for an app. The mango lassi was just right and super thick, skip the straw and just crack the lid. Cheers!“

“The food was tasty, fresh and delicious. They were spiced generously and very flavourful. At first glance the portions seemed small but after eating, our party of 4 was very full and satisfied. Dishes ordered: Dum-Pukht chicken biryani, hirayali chicken, dry manchurian paneer, hot & sour soup, aloo gobhi masala, schezwan rice (spicy crowd favourite), nest rasamalai(this was assembled table-side), and the sour amaretto (this wasn’t as strong as I’d like).“
