“We went to the bar yesterday and loved how clean it was—no weird smells at all! The staff were super friendly. When we first walked in, the music was pretty loud, but they quickly turned it down for us, which was nice. They have karaoke too, and the sound system is awesome. The chicken wings were really tasty! I’ll definitely be back next time. Overall, it was a great experience!“

“In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.“

“Great vibe. Not too busy. Tables were very well placed and enough space between the other parties. Three table itself is too small for drinks, hookah and games. Excellent hospitality from the host/owner. Great tasting drinks. Chai was too small for the price. Hookah was nice. Mild and appropriate for the setting. Lots it's board game options. New Video Game options. Highly recommend.“

“My first time here using Too Good To Go app, the plate was generous and delicious. I really enjoyed the pasta. I went up the wrong entrance, so I called and they were helpful guiding me to other set of stairs (closer towards highland farms). Noticed a bbq drum stored at the wrong entrance, i can't wait for summertime bbq!!! I had to wait a bit (10-15 min) for the food but it came out hot and delicious!“

“This place is amazing and definitely recommend anyone to come here for hookah. Look out for Nima and Anwar who are great workers. They take care of the the hookah service and change the coals very often. The food and the arabic mint tea is amazing. The premium hookah and flavours are hands down the best. My flavour is mango watermelon and the best and last long. Ill be coming here often“

“This place has really good steak and service is always great. Family oriented environment and a good kids menu for the littles. We dine here frequently and for those who haven't tried it you should try it you won't be disappointed. We are picky eaters and have expectations when we are out enjoying our meals, most importantly is the food quality, service and overall at an establishment.

“This is a MUST GO TO Restaurant. I went for breakfast on March 20/23. My experience started with the best service from General Manager Gary Anthony. He was friendly, informative, and fast. The breakfast menu has everything. I love Eggs Bennie. While my style was not on the menu, Gary made it happen anyway. THE BEST EGGS BENNIE EVER! Gary recommended the Banana/Orange/Strawberry juice (it says fresh on the menu). I asked if it was "that grocery store brand" that shall not be named here. He said NO, we made it fresh from real fruit in the blender. It was like a smoothie from heaven. I will return often. While I live about 30 - 40 k from this restaurant (I had an appointment near it that morning) - I will be returning again and often. Next time I'm bringing my wife - She'll love it. Thank you Gary.“

“Great place to play Billiards its really clean and they use disinfectants to clean the tables and everything else. I enjoyed my time here even before the pandemic and the waiters and staff are great to. The food and drinks were great. Friends liked the place to. Un loc grozav pentru a juca biliard este foarte curat și folosesc dezinfectanți pentru a curăța mesele și orice altceva. Mi-a plăcut timpul petrecut aici chiar înainte de pandemie, iar chelnerii și personalul sunt grozavi. Mâncarea și băuturile au fost grozave. Prietenilor le-a plăcut locul.“

“Arrived at around 9pm on a Wednesday with no reservation, the hostess told us that it would be anywhere from a 1-2 hour wait. Thankfully we were seated at around 9:20 (so I'm not sure where the wait time estimate came from), but I would definitely recommend getting a reservation anyways!

We came for the buck a shuck (east coast) and the oysters were decent. Some were on the smaller end, but for the most part they tasted good! We also got the yam fries as a carb to go with the oysters and those were pretty good as well.

Service was alright, the waiters and waitresses were really nice but they're kind of everywhere so you need to catch them before they run away 😂. It is a little loud in this restaurant but it kinda runs bar style so that makes sense anyways.

We ended up eating 120 oysters (party of 2) and there were no complications after. Definitely coming back!“

“First time at this place last night and it was pretty fun! The room we had was pretty big considering the amount of people we had in our party. The karaoke machine had awesome selection for English, K-pop and other languages! I will say the microphones didn’t work at first through first 3 songs we did. The dart machine on our room had only one dart that wasn’t broken so if you wanna have people playing the darts you should fix that for sure. And the washrooms were pretty smelly in my opinion. Overall I still had a good time!“
