“I went here for the first time today with my parents for lunch. We ordered from the Lunch Express menu- seafood teriyaki, tempura, and sashimi. The food arrived very quickly. Portions were a good size and most importantly, everything was delicious. My senior parents were delighted to speak Japanese with the server, who was incredibly gracious and kind. The interior is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.“

“Amazing food, exceptionally caring and attentive staff. The people here go out of there way to make sure customers are happy, comfortable and taken care of. Tonight I ordered through uber eats and accidently canceled the order, UE. Charged a 95% cancelation fee to my CC without telling me.. when I noticed the charge on my card, I spoke to Uber eats who refused to refund the "cancelation fee", and would not place a reorder without me paying again (double charge) for the original order. I ended up driving to the restaurant and told them of the situation and they made sure I was taken care of. They fufulied my order without knowing if UE would give them the money they are owed. I absolutely recommend this place and have ordered from them many times, every single time the food is incredible. If you're looking for a nice night out, or take out food, you can't go wrong with August 8 Burlington!“

“Discovered this place by accident by trying to find a bathroom on the highway. Was greeted with a warm welcome and throughout the whole time ordering, the staff were so polite and kind. The salmon poke bowl was presented very well which was impressive and tasted really delicious. They clearly took their time and required skill and precision, this place isn’t just some quick stop for food. Fast food speed service with restaurant quality food! “August 8 on Upper James St was once a very good place to go for sushi. Loved the food and the vast selection . All at very reasonable prices. The service was very good, a sushi restaurant that I remember well. A sushi restaurant I will recommend without a second thought. It's too bad that it burned down almost a year ago, with no sign of it being repair or even to be rebuilt.“
