“We had AYCE. Food was great. Pretty much the same as Spring Sushi, you just have more options to choose from here at August 8. The service was so fast and you don't have to wait for a server to 'confirm' your order on the tablet. My only reason for 4 stars is because it was so loud in there when we went. I know it's not controllable but it was really hard to hear my brother talking to me from across the table. However overall it was great! Would definitely go again.“

“Ventured to GTA west yesterday to buy something off of FB Marketplace and decided to see what Burlington had to offer by way of Asian food. We thoroughly enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner at Sakai. We arrived at 4:30pm - optimal time before the dinner rush! We dined Omakase-style and were greeted by dish after dish of deliciousness. We began with tuna tataki, kalbi, and steak tartar - great balance of flavours, textures, and temperatures. It wasn’t until we got to the sushi that I had the presence of mind to snap some photos - pulled out my phone because I was impressed by the details and presentation. Sadly, I didn’t snap a pic of our Hokkaido scallops or ebi (shrimp). Best I’ve ever had. I would have taken more pics but my usually-fussy about food 17-year old was actually impatient to get to each next bite. That alone speaks for itself! We finished our meal with crème brûlée - delicate and just the perfect amount of sweet. Thanks to John and his family, and amazing team for a meal to remember.“

“Went in near the end of the night but the chirashi bowl was still displayed nicely. The tempura was nicely fried but could have been sliced thinner. Overall a good experience

“Discovered this place by accident by trying to find a bathroom on the highway. Was greeted with a warm welcome and throughout the whole time ordering, the staff were so polite and kind. The salmon poke bowl was presented very well which was impressive and tasted really delicious. They clearly took their time and required skill and precision, this place isn’t just some quick stop for food. Fast food speed service with restaurant quality food! Will certainly stop by here again when passing by! They threw in some Asian candy with our order as well which was well appreciated!“

“Amazing food, exceptionally caring and attentive staff. The people here go out of there way to make sure customers are happy, comfortable and taken care of. Tonight I ordered through uber eats and accidently canceled the order, UE. Charged a 95% cancelation fee to my CC without telling me.. when I noticed the charge on my card, I spoke to Uber eats who refused to refund the "cancelation fee", and would not place a reorder without me paying again (double charge) for the original order. I ended up driving to the restaurant and told them of the situation and they made sure I was taken care of. They fufulied my order without knowing if UE would give them the money they are owed. I absolutely recommend this place and have ordered from them many times, every single time the food is incredible. If you're looking for a nice night out, or take out food, you can't go wrong with August 8 Burlington!“

“Our first time in this restaurant was about two months before we were asked to isolate. Dinner was perfect! Plate presentation was great and the food was right to the point. Since then we returned for a second and third time. Service and food only gets better! Everything tastes fresh and well cooked. The owners are very nice and the restaurant is immaculate. This is the place to find yourself eating. If you have a chance, you can stop by and grab dinner since they are open during this time for take out.“

“An amazing dining experience, getting to watch the chefs, handcraft everything in front of you then tasting how it melts in your mouth. Everything was delicious nothing disappointed the Gyoza is an amazing pick if you want to fill up fast. While, the meatballs are so hot and steamy. Sashimi is so fresh. Every bite of sushi was just perfect. Will most definitely be here again.“

“I don't have sushi often, but this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The flavours are saucy and exquisitely blended, creating a sensation that left me craving more. The place has some bright and appealing visual with great service, that's a huge bonus for the dining experience. I highly recommend this newly opened sushi restaurant for anyone seeking a refreshing and tasty journey while in the mall.

Vegetarian options: There were some veggie options, probably 5 or so with cucumber, carrot, avocado and some spicy variations. All look and probably taste great“
