“A great spot for Korean food! The service was amazing, the waiters was so kind and attentive. The portion sizes were huge and everything has so much flavour! We ordered the spicy chicken, mul-naengmyeon and the sashimi naengmyeon. This is an amazing place, we will definitely come back again!“

“We have been coming to Joya at least once a week for the past several years. This place is outstanding in every possible way, and we are so lucky to have such great sushi locally close by.

“The food was delicious and flavorful! We tried the grilled meat bibimbap, seafood noodles, and Korean pancake, and everything tasted great. The portions were generous, the food came out fresh and hot, and the service was friendly. The restaurant also had a nice and comfortable atmosphere. Definitely a great place for Korean food. Highly recommend😋“

“This restaurant is a bag of mixed emotions. It looks okay on the main door, in door isn’t bad . It’s small but carries this cozy vibe. Suitable more for students, I’d say. The food looks okay too but the taste…the taste is another issue. It doesn’t match the look. It tastes like Chinese food. Let me explain…I think they don’t use the Korean ingredients to make traditional Korean dishes, but instead just use any generic soya sauce and spice to make these original dishes. Fried dumplings are kinda hard & oily. Service is okay. I’d suggest owl of minerva restaurant if you wanna try Korean dishes. Pricing is fair.

“My family orders from Sushi Ya all the time, the quality of their fish is insanely good. The fish to rice ratio is perfect. No other sushi restaurant in Burlington/Waterdown area even holds a candle to this place. Even the appetizers are just so much better than most places. If you haven’t tried it, you should, you won’t be disappointed.“

“We came here on a monday, it was surprisingly busy. The food is really good. They have such big portions. They only have one server, she was very exquisite and kind. Regardless of being by herself, she still gave us a very good service. I missed to ask her name, but just wanted to extend our gratitude to her for making us feel welcomed and was served well.“

“I’ve been to this location a dozen times since it’s been open, it’s always quick and priced super reasonable. I was a little disappointed today, the service was really slow, only 1 other person was in the store in front of me, and my order took about 35 mins to make. Was it the fact that I added Mac and bites to my order for lunch, possibly… however that’s unreasonable. The Mac and cheese bites were not that bad , but didn’t justify the price of making it a combo, $21 (including tip) the store should focus on just doing the dogs, they’re great.“

“I’ve been coming here almost two decades (my oldest was a toddler when I first started eating here & he is now an adult). The owners are a hard working authentic family who have always been kind & respectful & yes, I always get a smile. It is not high end dining, it is a quaint little Japanese Korean restaurant. The food has always been fresh, consistent & a good portion size. They keep the restaurant clean. As for a tip, others have mentioned being pressured - I have never experienced this, unlike at other places like Subway. I love this like gem & will continue eating here. My favourite is the chicken yakisoba - so good!!!!“

“The food was delicious. I had the beef balgoggi which was served with rice, diacon, veggies, carrots and egg. Very tastey. However, I believe there was MSG in it which is normal for Korean cuisine. I am extremely sensitive to the MSG and barely slept that evening. I will just stick with Pho next time. It was very fresh and the staff were all lovely.“
