“Hi we went to Bangrak restaurant for lunch . This place was very highly recommended to us by our neighbours because it was very authentic for them. They love the food and many choices. When we got there just after 12 noon on the blistery cold day it was very cold inside. Place was very small and not very clean . No customers yet we were only one.We ordered from lunch menu and some from the regular one too. We ordered green tea and Tom yom soup to warm up. Soup came fast but it was very little to share between us two .. only 3 shrimps, 2 mushrooms and piece of tomato. It was salty and only one cup for 10$ . I ordered green chicken curry from lunch menu with rice and two spring rolls 15$ it was just ok . My husband got chicken with sticky rice no vegetables with his dish at all 17$ from reg menu. He took some chicken home . .Our bill came to 60$ with tip. Way too expensive for just ok food . I visited ladies room and almost got frost bite. The side doors were open and it was very very cold in the rest rooms. ..when I made the trip to the rest room . I passed by the kitchen and that was not a nice site . My husband payed already and wanted to go...I was going to complain but he does not like to do that... It was very expensive disappitment“
“A new favourite of ours, Jin's offers quality and quantity at a reasonable price!I usually opt for the "double up" for the variety of flavours and have yet to be disappointed.Pro tip: there is a small discount is you pay cash.Caution: if your order a spicy dish it is VERY spicy. I usually have a pretty good spice tolerance but even the medium spice level pushes my limits.“
“I’ve said this before but I’m gonna say it again. The BEST Chinese food in all of Durham, I love that I don’t have to drive out all the way to Scarborough for some good Chinese food ! The deep fried chicken wings are a MUST!! Highly recommend.I work at the restaurant beside and I always come here for lunch, great staff and amazing food .“
“We were looking for some Filipino comfort food for my mother-in-law. We stumbled upon this establishment in Ajax. This restaurant has a small hot table and they also make noodle soup called "Lomi".There's a small dining area good for maybe 10 people max. We ordered 2 beef pares noodles (large) $14.99 and one combo meal 2 $12.99 with a choice of 2 meat (pork or chicken), steamed rice and bottled water.Portion wise, the combo meal was a little bit small but understandable for businesses trying to navigate through tough times. We got the bicol Express and another pork dish with shrimp paste. The pork used in these dishes were very fatty so unfortunately, most of the meat was not edible. A little more attention to the meat selection will go a long way for patrons to enjoy their hot table food. The highlight was the beef pares noodles soup. Took some time for them to prepare it, but well worth the wait. The broth was satisfying, and noodles cooked extra soft for my mother-in-law. The beef brisket was tender and seasoned well.Overall, it was a nice first experience at this local restaurant . I will visit again soon when craving some chicken Lomi or beef pares. The owner and staff were very friendly and treated you like family. Well done.“
“PHENOMENAL!!! Moved to Whitby 4 years ago and couldn’t find a great Thai place until Thai On Brock!! What can I say…. Absolutely tantalizing and orgasmatic to the taste buds. We had Chicken Pad Thai, Malaysian Curry, Green Curry, vegetable spring rolls and Thai Hot N Sour soup. Everything was delicious and full of flavour and had me saying MmmMMmm…. during the whole eating experience. Portions for great! And wonderful service from the hip older gentleman. Sorry no photos as we dug right in, hopefully my descriptive words will suffice.“
