“A friend took me here for the first time and it was amazing!! The food was great! It was my first time having this type of food and the man was very kind and explained everything to me 5/5 for service! Then when we ordered, the portions were huge!!! I got the meat combo plate and my buddy got the wrap, both tasted fantastic. The price point to quantity/ quality is huge! I would 100% go back there anytime and I would also 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting to try it out! Amazing!

“The place was packed, but they tried very efficiently to accommodate. Staff very welcoming, smiling and try to help/please the customer. In particular we were impressed by the service and politeness shown by our Two servers, Hebun & Mete. Of course, one can not taste everything. We ordered a Platter that had combination of Meats, Vegetables, Grain Rice and Bread. Very tasty, enjoyed. They can make the Entrance more Clean and improve the Waiting Area.“

“Stopped by this place pre-concert at the Opera House.

Such a gem! Had the beef doner plate, which was packed with an assortment of food. The beef was cooked just right - some texture but not too chewy (imagine steak shredded). Packing each bite with some rice, beef, and veggies made it even better. So filling and worth it for its price.

My friend had the chicken doner plate and it was just as good. Chicken was so tender.

We were served a starter and some tea as well. Super attentive service.

“We haven't tasted such delicious raw meatballs in a long time. We had an excellent time with our group of friends at Mahmood Çiğ köfte. Mr. Mahmood is very polite and kind. We also thank you for the free tea service. We will come again as soon as possible. I recommend it to everyone.“

“Iskender was bad. Spices used were different than used in the real Turkish döner. Lahmacun was broken into pieces and cold. No lemon, parsley and onions were delivered with lahmacun.I ordered from this restaurant again and this time food was great. I realized that actually the delivery was bad. So, I am changing my review to 5 stars.“

“It was my first time trying Doner and let me tell you, it was so good. The beef doner was extremely thinly sliced and had a really delicious nice char to the beef pieces. It came with rice and pickled vegetables as well as salad. Honestly my partner and I shared this plate and it was more than enough food. The fact that it came with all these side plates really made the portions filling.

It's pretty good value for the amount of food you are getting and the doner was cooked very well. It's a great spot in the Danforth area!“

“I was in the area, driving around super hungry, approaching closing hour for many places and I really didn't want A&W/McD/Popeyes etc. Saw the word Shawarma looked open and yay pulled in here...but they were at end of the day and nothing on the spit. What's a girl who knows virtually nothing about Turkish food options, and without reading glasses to see the menu well, to do? The nice people made me something and off I went with my little hot package, still not quite totally knowing what I had in store. So....yum hello a fluffy and crispy baked flatbread with edges folded over, nicely spiced beef, some cheese...ahah! I just gobbled it down. And now I know what Pide is! And even better have another good place to go when around Downsview.“

The owner stayed open longer for us to pick up our called in order. The order came out as 12 dollars for two falafel wraps, and he threw in baklava. AT ALL COSTS. so here i am, on a monday morning, visiting the square one mall. after getting a starbucks coffee, i passed next to the MADO bakery who seemed inviting, deciding to get some pastries to try. out of the 30 tables here, only 2 are occupied by patrons at 11:00am. so i order three baklava, for 5$ a piece (really expensive but ok) and take a seat. After 30 seconds an employee ask me (politely) to leave the place, because "outside drinks are not allowed". on a monday morning, on an empty restaurant, i got kicked out for wanting to try their pastries. so now, there i am, eating on a public bench, 20$ worth of "luxury" pastries. worst service ever, overhyped but empty place. oh, and the baklava were bland, and tasteless. it looked like i was eating a handful of sand. but hey, at least my starbuck coffee was good. “It's an amazing Turkish dessert spot in town. The colorful and attractive desserts are calling you every time you visit the store. I've tried their baklava and locum and I would say it is one of the best. The reason for 4-star is that they are a bit over priced, a small box of baklava is 65$ which I think is a bit higher as compare to others but again it's a worth trying place and they offer quality. “It’s my first time visiting this restaurant and from ordering food to having it in the restaurant, everything was amazing about it. I was greeted by Umut ( Very friendly guy, also seemed passionate about what he does). I was recommended a Shawarma plate and every single element was surprisingly fresh and had its own unique flavour. The sauces were elevating the overall dish very well, all the greens were crunchy and well preserved.
Protein was well cooked and was well seasoned, nicely complimented with potatoes and rice.
One thing if I would like to see different is some variety in rice or maybe bit seasoned but when I was having the dish as a whole, then I understood the reason why it was kept that way.
Overall pretty amazing experience, I would definitely come back here again and to my friend Umut, thanks for being so kind man. Keep up that smile on your face, and the good work you do.“

“I am Korean Canadian with a pretty normal palate for food. I have become a regular here for the breads and pastry. In particular I love their personal sized pizzas and a tubular pastry that has feta and spinach Burek I think, I forget the name but absolutely the most crispy flaky and delicious breakfast I can have. Seems (pronounce Shems) is the gentlman usually behind the counter who is just the kindest man. They also have raw honey which my kids loved and I just tried the cherry drink. Good stuff especially for my gout. I am a customer for life~“

Istanbul Cafe has been a go-to spot of mine for years. It’s good to say that as time goes by the service gets better. Tonight we were served by an incredibly nice lady named Arlene. She was very polite and considerate. Even though it was quite late she still welcomed us with care and left a very good impression.“

“Having breakfast with my beloved family ( 9 Person ) in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere at the Mado chain restaurant.
One star deducted cause the Traditional Turkish breakfast is served with bread which was not enough for our order. ordering extra bread comes with an extra charge which i think is unfair.“
