Our experience at Salute was definitely worth the drive from Sunriver! It is in the heart of energetic, exciting Bend. The ambiance is delightful. Very knowledgeable wait staff. Food wonderful, especially the scallops.
Requested window table thinking it might be more conducive to chatting. Unfortunately, the acoustics are poor in this very small space, so my husband missed most of the conversation. The service was slow at the beginning of our experience, but improved as time went on. While we might be inclined not to visit again because it's such a loud environment, the food would probably draw us back. Salute Restaurant & Bar Bend offers an exceptional fine dining experience with outstanding food. The menu features innovative dishes such as the Little Sicily, Monte Cassino, carbonara, and langostino agnolotti, all crafted with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Guests have praised the handmade ravioli and seafood pesto for their delicious flavors, and the special rack of lamb has been noted as done to perfection. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are competitive for the level of fine dining offered. The restaurant also boasts a unique cocktail menu with well-made drinks and an extensive wine list, including Italian reds and whites. The ambiance is elegant, complemented by vintage-style glasses and thoughtful presentation of dishes. The scallops appetizer is really good and the Wild Boar Ragu is as good as any in Italy. The desserts are sinful and amazing, with cannolis and the Banana Millefeuille being outstanding. The attention to detail is impeccable, and the plate details are beautiful. Service is outstanding and wonderful, with prompt and engaging service. They offer an excellent Happy Hour menu and a quiet atmosphere, excellent for carrying on a conversation. While the food is flavorful and prepared with care and expertise, served with courtesy and enthusiasm, a recent dining experience was impacted by cramped seating.
