“The server/bartender was subbing to help the cook out today, and he did a wonderful job. The vegetarian sandwich was incredibly delicious! I ordered the only IPA on tap, and it was refreshing after my strenuous hike in the Eastern Gorge at Tracy Hill in the snow. Great day with a great restaurant stop in Cascade Locks!“

“"The best ever." My boyfriend and I loved visiting this tavern so much that we went back repeatedly throughout our stay in town. The employees are very fun, pleasant, and welcoming and the food and drinks are awesome. The atmosphere was great and they have trivia, karaoke, games, popular sports on TVs, and it is obviously a popular local hangout. We highly recommend this tavern and will make it a tradition to return throughout the year when we are visiting in the area.“

“An absolute gem. I had the best strawberry cidar ever (usually they are too sweet- this one was not and it was 6.9%!). The lady/owner? Let me know there is a rotating tap and I love that because I love trying new beers. We had also ordered the pepperoni panini on pretzel bread and it was FANTASTIC. Great service, great local spot. If I lived in the area I'd be popping up here. Definitely give it a shot. I was super impressed with this place.“

“Thank You Backwoods Brewing Co!This IS the place to go year round for quality crafted beer, bbq and pizza.The atmosphere is down-to-earth and welcoming, especially after a day in the backwoods working up a thirst and appetite from waterfalls veiwing and trail hiking.Good times abound especially in summer, when the dog-friendly backyard of the Backwoods is open and entertaining with music to pair along with their assortment of brews and foods.There's also their Party Acres to consider when visiting. Curently being developed across from the brewery with cabins available.Overall, Backwoods has a really good thing going, growing from the ground up. Tended to by a local family who value and understand what it means to keep their small town home and community, small town, friendly, unpretentious, yet thriving.“

“Burgers and beer. Very good. Jukebox and pool table if that interests you. Inexpensive, good staff. Local hang out but summers find it quite busy. Lots of motorcyclists stop on their way to wind river highway. But all nice people. Safe and good place.“

“Hands down the best meal I've had in years!The special was a pork tamale. The sauce was different than any sauce I've had before and I asked my server about it. He proudly told me it is a house made sauce made daily from fresh tomatillos. It was so good I almost ordered a second meal to take home with me.One of our party ordered a huge pile of nachos that was intended as an appetizer. It was huge and piled high with all the lovely toppings. The guacamole looked and tasted fresh as well.We will be back!!Parking: Plenty of parking in the lot, and more parking available on the street.Kid-friendliness: There's a bar in the establishment, but if you walk to the left upon entering there are many family friendly booths as well. Our party included children and was well received.“
