“Fuego Underground is indeed "Fire!" I've been to dozens of Speakeasy establishments in New York, Las Vegas, and even in Central America. Fuego Underground has easily become a top 5 favorite experience for me!It isn't secreted behind an unmarked door or hidden behind a business front, but it has an authentic feel of a Speakeasy from the 20s and 30s. The servers are dressed as flappers, and the interior of the Underground beneath De Fuego bar attached to the Monarch hotel in Clackamas is opulent yet tasteful and reminiscent of the era. There is live piano music at opening, and smooth jazz trios and featured artists later in the evening. The service is on point. Everyone embraces the spirit of the experience being created within the Fuego Underground. The cocktails are heavily weighted toward the whiskey and bourbon drinking crowd, yet all drinks are given the prohibition era spin in presentation. The entrees are predominantly various cuts of beef with some exceptions, and they are of equal quality to any high-end steak house in Portland. The sides are varied and better than most compared to, say, El Goucho or Ringside. I had a Gâteau au Chocolat for desert that was delicious! (even though I had to take it home and eat it 2 hours later for being so full!)Overall, it was an amazing experience! If you love a good Speakeasy, you HAVE to try Fuego Underground. If you just like great steaks and craft cocktails, this is a hidden gem with easy parking, but reservations are recommended. This place is popular and for very good reason.“

“There are two seating areas, so you want to have a reservation so you make sure to sit in the bar area, it’s got a fun vibe about it. We went at 530 mid-week and was not crowded yet, definitely picked up after 630.Food was delicious, service spot on.Great date night place.Do understand it’s not inexpensive but like so many things in life, you get what you pay for. We’ll go again for sure. “Went to LaRhonda Steele last night at the de Fuego ‘underground’. Wow. Great atmosphere. Very unique and well done. Service was good. Bartender (Sally) made great drinks. Food, more pricey than expected but I can’t complain as it was delicious. The entire evening was delicious as a matter of fact. Go. Relax. Have a cocktail. And let go.“

“Stopped by while bar was opening to kill some time. It's a really well designed bar, the BBQ out back smells amazing, but I was about to go out for dinner with friends, so I stuck to drinks. Bartender ended up being one of the owners and was super cool and chill to chat up. Great drinks and convo, loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be back.“

“Tried for the first time 4-6-24. We just found our favorite place in the greater Gresham area. We've eaten at many of the Mexican restaurants, liked alot of them but this place beats them all for cleanliness, service, and most of all the quality of the food and price. You'll walk out knowing you just experienced something wonderful. This has become our go to place.“

“Really chill little tiny bar and they have a really great actual bar that's made from a salvaged old redwood tree. The owner/bartender was a really nice, very accommodating guy.Kid-friendliness: Its a bar.... So of course there's a huge area just for kids, LOL. Seriously though to spell it out for those people who don't know I'm joking here, children are not allowed, it's a bar. And if they were allowed, like say during the day, you might want to ask yourself, "would good parents bring their children to a bar?"“

“What a jewel we just discovered in Gresham!! We could not choose and ordered 3 appetizers that were excellent plus our entrees and a yummy lemon meringue pie for dessert. Good sized portions and the Apple salad was amazing!! The restaurant size is perfect for a dinner for two or four with not too many tables and spread enough apart that you can have an intimate conversation. We are going back for my birthday.“

“It loses a star only because there weren't many food options for me with being gluten intolerant. Their fries were super tasty though, and the drinks were delicious! All the menu items were vidya game themed and that was fun to read through. The vidya game selection itself was spectacular! Me and the cute date had a blast munching our "girl dinners," playing Street Fighter VI, Mario Kart 8, and Warioware: Get it Together!Dietary restrictions: Very few gluten-free menu options aside from the dope drinks!“
“I totally loved this place. Its a recent find for me as I have only recently had PDX added to my patch and now have cause to travel there regularly. Airport food can be very hit and miss but this place hits the spot. The lady that served me was really nice and funny - Its nice to have a positive interaction like that - especially that early in the morning. The food is well prepared and presented and the menu has something for everyone. If you need brekkie in PDX this is the place to go.“

“New owner is super nice and trying all kind of things to get the place going. New menu, remodeled the place a couple of times, bands or DJ most weekends, and currently a mechanical bull! The only negative is they don't have VP machines.“
