“We love this place! We eat here regularly, and truly enjoy the food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. The black cod miso yaki is our favorite dish - it's delicious and I highly recommend it. The veggie and shrimp tempura is the best I've ever had, with an interesting mix of eggplant, mushrooms, squash, lotus root, and onions - all lightly battered and served with a delightful dipping sauce (pour the dipping sauce on the black cod, it's so good). The cocktails, especially the Japanese 75 and the shiso gin drink (I can't think of the name), are well-balanced and mixed properly, and are very yummy. I tell everyone I know to try this place! Some of the food can seem adventurous if you're not familiar with Japanese fare, but it's all delicious and beautifully presented. Finally, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner is a very sweet and funny lady. All around, Sushi Kuni is a great dining experience and I highly recommend checking it out.“

Met our niece there for breakfast and totally a joy of a cross country trip. Have been in many places across the U S A; and this one is one of major memorable treats. BTW my niece talked me into to trying your Fabulous (Homemade) Green Monster Sauce on my egg omelette and I havent stopped talking or looking for a duplicate since visiting Portland and I live in Ohio! If any one is reading this as a world traveler, believe me when I tell you If you live, or travel in this area, you gotta treat yourself to one of their fabulous stomach filing delicious entries. “This is a cute place with a great bartender. The reason I'm going with 4 stars: When I walked in, due to reflections on the glass door I couldn't see inside. I opened the door and RIGHT THERE at chest level was the massive head of a giant black dog, about a foot in front of me. I'm not exaggerating - I am very short and this was a mastiff or something. His head was twice the size of a human head. I froze. I have been attacked by dogs before and this was a terrifying experience. It was soon clear that the dog was very chill and only wanted to say hello, but it's not ok to have customers surprised like that.“

Nice curated tap list, excellent cocktails and even ranch water (taller tequila based drinks) which was great. Drink service can require some patience when crowded.“

“My wife and I went to Five-Spice for our Anniversary today, and the food, the view, and service were great! The Mahi-mahi and Clams were fabulous along with some excellent wine and dessert. I also want to give a big shout out to our waitress Sara who was very attentive and courteous about taking our order and brining out our food on time as well as making sure we had everything we needed. We definitely will go back for the food and ask for Sara as our waitress.“

Never really feeling comfortable because most of the employees are busy visiting with regulars and people they know They might offer you something to drink once in a while. Until ERICKA !!! She gives excellent customer service (this 5 star rating is for her) I was in there the other day and she was calling every single person by name. She us wonderful. You are very lucky to have her as an employee. I hope your paying her a decent wage because if not I would snatch her up in a heartbeat . She gives excellent customer service. I guarantee you that she is what brings alot of your business in. Thank you Erika for making me feel welcome!“

“It's too bad The Lamp essentially went out of business during the COVID shutdown, and is unlikely to return to the cool neighborhood bar that it used to be. Luckily, the Aladdin Theater took over the space so at least you can still hang out and have a drink while waiting for the show next door to open. Beats waiting outside in the rain.“

Had lunch there Saturday, and on the recommendation of my son in law, I decided to go with the pork belly mac & cheese. It was okay, oddly too sweet for my tastes, but filled me up nonetheless. Wife had the sweet pea agnolotti, and that was much better.“
