“This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant. The first time I came here, I felt so comfortable. The owner is so sweet and helpful. The food is very unique from other Mexican resteraunts. My favorite place. “Each time I gather in the MF area with friends we choose to meet at some point at the Upper 9! The place is always clean, the staff friendly, the food & drinks perfect! There is a larger indoor dining area, an outdoor dining area on the deck with a view of the golfing area, and a nice indoor bar between the two. They are very accommodating for small and larger groups. We have held planning meeting for 6-12 people and HS classmate events for up to 60+ people. We may make reservations months in advance, they push tables together for larger groups, bring on more staff, and handle us with ease! I have enjoyed eating there all times of the day. If you have not been to the Upper 9 for meals (including breakfast!) you have to stop in. This is a favorite of the locals as well as people who visit and pass through the area.Vegetarian options: They menu is well written, they are happy to adjust any items so as to accommodate all diets.Dietary restrictions: The menu is diverse, they are happy to adjust any items so as to accommodate all diets.Parking: There are a few parking spots in the front of the building and a large gravel parking lot across the street.Kid-friendliness: It is listed as a restaurant; however, I never have seen any children in the dining areas.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a nice ramp and strong handrail to the right side of the building for wheelchairs or people who have issues with steps.”

“It's a lovely place. Tucked away off the road. The owners are some of the nicest brewery owners I have meet. Their Ren Faire they held was fun if not hot but it was summer in Eastern Oregon what can you do. A most visit for beer lovers and fantasy fans.”

“8 of us happened upon Tates while on a bike ride that started in Walla Walla. I don’t know who helped us but the guy was great. He was very accommodating, even opening the outdoor seating for our group. They did a quick wipe down of tables and chairs and we were good to go. He was great, too, at sharing historical facts about the area. Our deli sandwiches that we ordered were very good and hit the spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.”

“Some of the best sandwiches in the area. It is worth the drive from Walla Walla. My only concern was how rushed we felt while we were ordering. The last time we were there the atmosphere was not as inviting as it was before. The prices are great and the sandwiches are made with quality ingredients.”

“They have THEEEEE best tacos in the valley! I come from Eastgate walla walla just to get my hands on these tacos! My kids are even obsessed! We went today and I asked if they took cashapp since I forgot my wallet at home and they went out of their way to get the app and make a profile so I didn't have to go all the way home and back to pay! I thought that was the coolest thing any business has ever done! My family and I are very VERY satisfied customers and will always be coming back for more!! My toddler loves the quesadilla plate with rice and beans and only cheese in the quesadilla and they remember her order after only one time! She loves going there to say hi to the employees! “Super friendly and helpful staff. The perry was good, but very sweet.The cider, unfortunately, had the same problem as so many other commercial ciders, H2S a.k.a. sulfer. Commercial cideries really need to start treating their yeast better so they can prevent this.Wheelchair accessibility: Ample ramps and room for ability devices.”

“We enjoy this place. Shepherds pie is good. Onion rings are good and available, not always on the menu. The slot machine sounds can deter some folks. The place is close to our house, and I appreciate being able to pop in for a warm meal.”

“The food was good met my expectations I had the asada torta and it was really good filling for sure and the staff was nice but the food took a little wait to come out and the decoration was iffy like the table had flags on them and other than that It looked pretty bland”

“Fun little hole-in-the-wall tavern in Milton-Freewater, OR. I'm not an embiber but the daily food specials are my jam. More than just bar food. I like the soup and sandwich selections. I order off-menu. If they have it, they'll make it. Tip generously and the ladies backing the bar will treat you well. Slots along the perimeter wall give the place a real Winnemucca or Toppenish kinda vibe. Mostly, I like the location. It's next to my favorite tailor shop, shoe repair shop, and barber shop.”

“We loved the food very good and old school authentic like a traditional old ma and pa burger shack but the pricing for the food was outrages. Too overpriced for how small the portions we were given and they offer no combo meals everything ordered separately. Over all tasted amazing and the milkshakes were delicious and handmade but did not taste as well you would think based on how much we spent.”
