Fishtails Cafe Reviews
the food is great ,the customer service is slow and seems like they dont multi task very well ,been 3 times in 3 weeks but one must be patient and learn to breath deep , but the food is great
Poor customer service. Food was NOT appetizing.
I wouldn’t recommend this place! My friend is missing her gallbladder and can’t eat greasy food! Unfortunately the fries were soggy and extremely greasy. The fish for the fish and chips was also greasy! It tasted okay; but not worth the 20 dollars! Everything was overpriced. The server called my friend, who is clearly a woman, sir, which upset her! My other friend posted a review on Google, and the extremely rude owner responded back! I would only recommend this place if you...read full review

Fishtails Cafe is a beloved local restaurant in Newport, Oregon, known for its delicious breakfast and lunch options. The menu features huge servings of classic comfort food, made with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The Biscuits & Gravy remains a standout dish, with gravy that is not overly salty and packed with flavor, accompanied by generous portions of sausage, hashbrowns, and a huge biscuit. The Marionberry French Toast is also a must-try, celebrated for its gooey center and sweet marionberry jam/syrup. For lunch, the clam chowder is a popular choice, filled with big pieces of clams and less potatoes, and served in a cozy atmosphere that often includes oldies music.
This friendly, multi-generation family-owned restaurant has a charm that appeals to both families and couples. It is frequented by locals and is conveniently located within walking distance of nearby hotels. The wait for food and drinks can be a little long, and some reviews mention that the service can be slow, but this adds to the mom and pop feel of the cafe. Despite the slower service, the food quality remains impressive, with the clam chowder frequently praised as excellent. The brisket sandwich is described as amazing, tender, and juicy, while the tuna melt is noted as the best ever. With friendly service and affordable prices, Fishtails Cafe is a must-visit destination in Newport, where things are slower and more relaxed.
