“Great food truck! Brother paused what he was doing and greeted me with salaam as soon as i walked up. I said salaam back and ordered a lamb gyro. This wasnt just an ordinary lamb gyro, that would be an understatement. Only someone with years of experience could have mastered how to create such a thing. And it was delicious. Very good quality, tender, juicy, halal grade lamb, traditional spices to perfectly compliment the natural flavors of the meat, fresh crunchy lettuce with diced fresh tomatoes, the sauce added an umami depth on top of everything and the bread had clearly been made fresh by them. Out of all the shawarma I’ve had, i gotta rank this 5/5. Will return for more.“
“Having lived for a decade in Lebanon, I'm very picky when it comes to Lebanese food. I would rather not eat it than pay for mediocre dishes. If you're the same, look no further than Al Hawr. It is, by far, the best Lebanese restaurant in Portland and could compete with the best ones back home. The staff is friendly and attentive, the owner will recognize you if you come back after one visit, and the food is out of this world. I try to take photos every time I go and end up forgetting because I just want to dig in. I was invited to look at the kitchen at the end of one dinner and it was spotless. The cheese rolls are crispy and addictive, the kibbeh is refined and tender, the meats are perfectly seasoned and cooked, the hummus is creamy, the baba ghannouj is flavorful and topped with vibrant pomegranate seeds, I could go on and on. The portions are generous and I love taking home leftovers to enjoy the next day. Parking has been super easy every time I've been. If you're looking for Lebanese food today, don't think twice and go there.“
“Once again Yalla has hit the mark. The food is delicious from the hummus and fresh pita bread to the corn bread to the fried chicken (also had the brussel sprouts, beef short ribs and pastrami). The service is stellar and the atmosphere is upbeat but not loud, intimate but not crowded. I would recommend Yalla without question.“
“Love the falafel here. The menu is great and the staff are lovely. They have a great little cafe for coffee and smoothies too. And the market is quite large with lots of drink options. So glad to have this place in the neighborhood, right next to the park.“
“Due to the stellar reviews, our college baseball team chose Moonlight Grill for their post-game meal and they did not disappoint. The team needed 38 gyros, a mix of chicken schawarma, beef schwarma, and lamb meat gyros with homemade baklava and they were able to accommodate us on short notice. The friendly owner was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Moonlight Grill if you want a delicious meal that will be well-received by all!“

“Today is the 4th time I have been to CORE. Lucky for me, I ate at Sandy's Myanmar Cuisine today. It was SOOOO good! I tried the national dish, catfish soup with guava drink. Definitely stop by. Henry & the management team at CORE definitely have a great venue - and a great atmosphere! I will definitely be back!“
“Blown away. Taste was so complex and exciting. So many layers of flavor. Ishtar Gates been on my list for a while since it came highly rated but I always forget. Ordered for take out and food was ready under 20 minutes. I love that when I wked in, I felt like I was in another place, either a densely stacked city like NYC or an overseas country that has late night street food. Oh! Also they give you so much food! Anyways, I've told so many friends about it and now you, too.“
“I have been a couple of times, this time I got the lamb gyro and it was simple and delicious! I don't always like lamb but this was perfect! I will definitely be back. I also like that it's a hole in the wall, tucked into a corner of the convenience store but there are a couple booths and tables so you can sit and eat.“
“I have eaten here a few times. Everything is gluten free except the naan. All the dishes are amazing, but the biryani is off the charts amazing. It is all home made and fresh. Will definitely come back and try everything else.Kid-friendliness: Food truck atmosphere. There is a stage to play on unless they have live music performing.“
“Amazing food, great atmosphere, happy people. Local & family owned. I went with my Mom after Hush Hush was recommended by her Surgeon. I am new to Mediterranean cuisine so ordered something that was not what I was expecting. But it was my mistake,so I was just going to buy a 2nd wrap but the owner insisted on giving it to me.He also took time to explain the dishes and even gave me samples. Not only was lunch great but I also got a wonderful presentation on the different dishes they offer. To top the delightful experience the owner wrapped up my mistaken order for my Mom to eat later. All the meals we saw looked amazing and my Gyro with Tziki was delicious! The prices are good and the portions are large.I will definitely dine here again and will recommend Hush Hush Cafe to all my friends and family!“
“We ordered a catering package for 8 people and were BLOWN away by the generosity of the portions and incredible value we received! The food was delicious and included ALL the sauces, salad, rice, dips, pita and kebabs. It was all packaged so carefully and perfect for reheating. We will definitely be ordering this again for future dinner parties!“
“This Kosher falafel and also beyond meat in pitta was very good. Also lentil or tomato soups. restaurant is pretty nice with very nice guy who is running it.It is located in the Jewish center so the atmosphere is not the usual restaurant one. More like a familes place.I liked it, I think it's the only certified Kosher restaurant in Portland, a place simply to eat.Vegetarian options: Everything (or almost) is vegetatianParking: It's the parking of the Jewish community center“
“I ordered a falafel over salad and waited for quite some time. Apparently, there was some confusion and my order was delayed. When I received my food, there was no charge due to the wait! Not necessary but very kind. Turns out, it was well worth the wait. The falafel and salad were delicious! Thank you, I will return :)“
“Went here for dinner with family and it was amazing. Best Persian food in town. The server was super friendly and gave us great service. The place was clean and they had a live DJ and belly dancer it was a great night to eat dance and enjoy some great Persian culture. I got the chicken barg soltani and it was delicious. This place has lots of parking so that was not an issue. I highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed.“
