I ordered a barbacoa quesadilla. Usually, they grab a tortilla, place cheese on it, fold it in half, press it until it’s crispy and melted, then add the meat, slice it into normal quesadilla pieces, and wrap it in foil—simple and straightforward.

This time, when I ordered, they immediately handed me a kids’ meal box and asked what sides I wanted. I was confused and thought there had been a misunderstanding, but apparently, this is how they do it now. I picked my three sides, and then they started making my quesadilla.

Here’s where things went sideways: they took a tortilla, added cheese and meat, and folded it into a 5x3 rectangle, stacking multiple layers of tortilla on top of each other. I asked if this was a quesadilla, and they said yes. They placed it on a tray with parchment paper and threw it into their quick oven. When it came out, the parchment paper had fused with the tortillas, and I had no choice but to eat bits of paper with my quesadilla.

To make matters worse, it wasn’t even cut properly—just one partial cut, folded in half to fit the box. The price was also significantly higher than what I’ve paid for a quesadilla in the past.

I just wanted a normal quesadilla, like every other time I’ve ordered. Taste-wise, it was still good—the crispy paper, barbacoa, and melty cheese made the paper as tolerable as paper can be. But please, Chipotle, just stick to the basics. Grab a tortilla, fold it in half, and skip the overlapping tortilla layers.“

“Got a bowl here and it was made to perfection, couldn’t have asked for a more delicious bowl. As much hate as this place gets it’s not a bad place. People just like to write bad Reviews instead of good reviews because if it’s fine no one is going to write a review but if it’s bad obviously they are going to write one.
