This place is incredible. I did a happy dance after my first bite! With affordable and DELICIOUS options including perfectly portioned combos, lovers of Ethiopian food and beginners alike can sample a lot of the menu without breaking the bank. The staff are all super friendly and personable and were willing to answer any questions we had. We live over an hour from this restaurant but the drive is well worth a return trip!
Excellent choice for Ethiopian food. There was a separate VEGAN section on the menu, which I really appreciate. There’s a vegan “sampler” with 5 different choices on the injera. I told the waiter I was vegan, and he just said “I’ll set you up!” It was perfect and delicious!! Like many other reviewers have said; it’s a VERY friendly establishment. I'm a big fan of Ethiopian food, and nothing I've had on the west coast has ever been quite as good as what I've had in Washington D.C., but this unassuming little restaurant won my heart. I've been here twice, now and ordered the full 7-item veggie combo with extra injera both times. It is fantastic, and the service is so kind and attentive. I took turns trying all of the places around Portland, and found my go-to!
