“I'm so glad I found this little hidden gem! It's somewhat tucked away in the St John's industrial area, but yet less than a minute walk away from Cathedral Park! (and also walking distance to downtown St John's) The restaurant is on the second floor of a warehouse building that's been remodeled and quite cozy inside. My favorite though was the amazing outdoor dog friendly patio! The views on this patio blew me away and my pup and I got to witness one of the most gorgeous sunsets while we were there
...oh yeah, and their pretzel & cheese was hands down the best I've found in Portland so far!“

“Prost! is an amazing German-styled beer pub that is not-to-be-missed if you enjoy that style of brew. Hipsters looking for the latest Pacific NW IPA need not apply. The food is appropriate for the venue and excellent. Staff is polite and engaging in what is commonly a busy environment; a rare combination. My only reluctance to writing this review is to bring an already-popular venue even more foot traffic for entirely selfish reasons! Prost!“

“We stopped here on a Friday for lunch. Cozy interior with a German pub vibe. Big selection of German beers on tap and in the bottle. We got a Rueben and shared. Delicious! Love they used sliced chunks of pastrami vs deli meat pastrami. The clams had a great garlic flavor.“

“This was a fantastic date night choice. Very small, cozy space. Definitely recommend making reservations! While we were very happy with our food, the rosti was a little bland and tasted vaguely of potato and bacon. Not much seasoning or other flavors. I think the two dressings would have been great on it, but they snatched them quick before our main dishes arrived and I didn't even think to ask for them until after we left! The service was great. We forgot our leftovers but the server ran it out to us, which was very sweet.“

“Great spot, great tap list and they have a full bar as well- I have eaten at the Mexican spot (best Mexican I have had in Portland so far), the Thai spot is pretty solid but the Indian spot is for sure my favorite (it’s tucked in the corner in the outside area) Zoigl has a great bavarian pretzel with a cheese and mustard dip.“

“Alpenrausch is a charming gem, perfect for a cozy evening. Their fondue is simply exquisite—rich, creamy, and indulgent, served with the tastiest accompaniments. It's a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic Alpine dining experience.“

“Went here with a class from PCC, the service was very professional and organized. Beautiful paintings on the walls and a really nice feel to it. The only complaint I can think of is that it is literally impossible to find vegan options. I couldn't find a single food or dessert item that was vegan.
If you are a fan of meat and wine, and have a huge sweet tooth for desserts, this is the place to go. Probably the most authentic German food I have ever found.
Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options.
Dietary restrictions: If you are vegan, expect to come only for the drinks.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: From what I could find, it was perfectly wheelchair accessible.“

“Auf unserem Road Trip haben wir natürlich auch einen Besuch beim PDX Dönerländ gemacht. Und wir können dies nur weiter empfehlen. Der Döner war super lecker und die Besitzer total freundlich und haben sich auch Zeit für einen Klönschnack mit uns genommen.“

“Excellent authentic German food and drinks. Can't go there without getting a Leberkässemmel (roll with hot Leberkäse and mustard) for the road!“

“Wonderful experience. From Chicago and visiting my daughter in Portland. The food was exceptional; the sausages, wurst, rouladen and all!! My daughter has celiac and trust me when I tell you that you give up ZERO by eating gluten free at The Slide Inn. FYI, none of us had ever tasted onion rings quite so good. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful little restaurant.“
