Sichuan Taste Reviews
Food and seevice were good. Fairly barren atmosphere.
I was walking over to it after work and nearly missed it but I’m glad I didn’t. Now I can’t really comment on their Sichuan food as I didn’t order it but their Mongolian beef was really tender. It was in my opinion perfectly cooked and so were the onions it was cooked with. The sauce wasn’t too thick or thin, it was really well balanced with a subtle sweetness and the right amount of spice. I got the Mapo tofu and Thai tea. The tofu was pretty good, a bit lacking in pork but the spice and flavor was there. Thai tea was a bit too sweet for me. Overall, this is one of the better Chinese places in Portland!

Sichuan Taste offers a mixed dining experience with a focus on authentic Sichuan cuisine. The food is highly praised, especially the crispy dry-fried pork intestine, flavorful Mongolian beef, spicy wontons in chili oil, and Sichuan Pork Wonton w.Chili Oil. The mapo tofu is a standout, with silky tofu in a rich, complex sauce and a numbing Sichuan peppercorn kick. The dry-fried green beans are crispy, savory, and well-seasoned. Many dishes are prepared freshly and come in generous portions, showing thoughtful preparation. The restaurant has a warm, bustling atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff, creating a welcoming environment. Despite some concerns about the location and area, Sichuan Taste remains a popular spot for authentic Chinese cuisine in Portland. Visitors especially recommend trying the crispy Szechuan fish, and many are eager to return to explore more of the menu, including dishes like dry pot Frog.
