Food is consistently good, staff is friendly. Know that waits can be long and you do order at the counter and bus your own table.
I went here on a whim. I'm so glad that I did! The chicken katsu sando was amazing. Crispy, but juicy chicken, a perfect slaw or something as a topping. It was the best thing I've put in my mouth in years.
I also got a strawberry sando because I wanted to try one. Perfection. Simple, but tasty.

My husband and I are relocating to Portland and this has become one of our favorite lunch spots. The sandwiches are always fresh, consistent, and well made. I have jaw issues, so the shokupan bread is perfect for me and I can actually enjoy sandwiches again! Not even kidding, this is what I crave late at night so I wanted to leave a review lol. Matcha is perfect as well - not too sweet. Staff are always kind and welcoming as well. Thank you, Tanaka!
