The staff helped recommend their favs which was outstanding. I couldn’t decide, so I had a few different dishes with my husband. Ice cream was perfect and they gave huge scoops. “I'm usually a carne asada / birria guy, but they're tacos al pastor are stupidly good. Clean environment, friendly, fast service, take cards. 4 salsa options, all good. Two red, one green, one avocado. Their birria tortillas come out crispy, which I love. Prices are very reasonable. Solid.“

“I'm disappointed in myself for waiting so long to try this place! The restaurant is very clean and well lit and the staff is super friendly. We tried the fish tacos, shrimp tacos and pork street tacos. All were exceptional! The salsa bar is amazing with tasty salsa, crisp pickled carrots and yummy grilled onions with whole jalepeno! And the best part... the price! It's hard to find any food places open past 9pm or affordable anymore, in Bend. I'm happy to say, " We've found our new spot!"“

We then proceeded to order food in which I ordered the Plato Aguachile and she ordered a Sope with Carne Asada and some mexican corn. Everything tasted fresh and amazing.“

“We ate at La Margarita Restaurant and Grill for the first time recently. We have tried three other Mexican restaurants in Salem and, while the food was good at most of them, we thought their prices were very high. We were pleasantly surprised to find the menu at La Margarita Restaurant and Grill to be surprisingly less expensive than any of the other Mexican restaurants we have tried, and the food was excellent. We had the Enchiladas Carnitas ($15.00) and the Gerry Lewin's Combination ($16.00). They were both very good, served hot with rice and refried pinto beans. They also offer black beans as an option. We also each had a 16oz house margaritas ($10.50 each) which was pretty good (having lived in Mexico, we are pretty picky about margaritas). The total bill was $52.00 before the tip). We went on a Friday night and arrived at about 5:45pm (they open at 5). The restaurant was already on a wait list. We were quickly greeted and told there would be a wait of approximately 15 - 20 minutes for a table. We were seated in less than 10 minutes. The restaurant is comfortable and not overly decorated like many Mexican restaurants tend to be. The only improvement would be a larger area to wait for your table. The parking lot adjacent to the restaurant was full and we didn't want to pay for on-street parking, so we drove two blocks to the Liberty Square Parkade and parked. I highly recommend trying La Margarita Restaurant and Grill.“

“Honestly one of, if not, the best of Mexican restaurants in Salem. The food is made fresh, daily. The hot chocolate was delicious and authentic. The crepes and french toast were absolutely delicious and the fresh waters were amazing. This place is under new ownership and I'm so glad it is because the food is incredible, the vibe is inviting and spacious and the service is so friendly and personable!!! 5 stars only because it doesn't let me give higher!! “Have driven by this establishment many times, finally stopped. What a gem! The place is unassuming but very clean. Came for breakfast, surprisingly large selection. We got breakfast burritos. Very affordable. They were huge, and excellent quality. Did I happen to say huge? Cheese, potatoes, eggs, your choice of breakfast meats and cooked to perfection. I added refried beans, crema, onions, cilantro and the salsa that came with chips...excellent! The waitstaff were friendly and helpful to non Latinos. Would I eat here again? Absolutely 💯!!! What caught my eye was the birria egg rolls, so I thought I’d give them a try, and boy am I glad I did. I opted for the avocado salsa and that made them even more yummy. “It's actually better today then it was a year ago. They appear to have finally fixed the drive-thru speakers. What I found strange though is that my taco salad seemed to be almost upside down... it used to be the refried beans in the bottom, then lettuce, then everything else. Today the lettuce (actually I believe it was thin cut cabbage) was on top. Which kind of made everything underneath a big mess. However, the overall flavor was good and the carne asada was not overcooked. Only major request I have is to provide several taco sized flour tortillas when people order carne asada plates instead of one burrito sized one.“
