Besides having delicious chocolate and maple flavors, the bakery creates amazing flavors like German chocolate, cherry cheesecake and Smores doughnuts just to name a few. You never know what might be in the case the next time you come but you can bet it will be delicious! Just having amazing doughnuts, cookies and brownies isn't enough, the Mermaid has homemade soups! Look for the freezer and pick yourself up some soup. The depth of flavor they have is fabulous. A true comfort on a rainy day! Check Facebook for their daily offerings. Stop by sometime. “I was in Newport for a week for work, and this delightful little drive-thru coffee shop was a great way to start each day.

Located near the heart of Newport, this quaint shop offers a variety of coffees, teas, Red Bull drinks, and additional flavors. There are also a handful of breakfast and healthy snacks to purchase. You can order a typical coffee drink or try one of their house specialties with delicious flavors and themes that tie back to Newport and/or the Pacific Northwest. There's something for everyone, and they even have dog treats if you bring your pups to the shop.

I was also happy to know that if you wanted to make the drinks more or less sweet they could accommodate. There are also are sugar free options. And for the sweets lovers, each coffee is topped off with a chocolate covered espresso bean.

The building itself accommodates walk-ups and drive thru. The exterior is a beautiful blue, and the interior looks clean and well kept. The staff is extremely friendly offering suggestions, describing the drinks, and doing everything in their power to ensure you leave a happy customer.

I would come back to Newport for a variety of reasons, but I would definitely come back for this coffee experience.”

“Newport on a Tuesday night. We drove to five restaurants before finding Zach’s Bistro. Although He was sold out of almost everything, we were able to get the most amazing dinner ever! Even my five-year-old grandson loved the food. I had the fish cakes, with artichoke and dill. Oh my goodness! It was amazing. My daughter had perfectly cooked salmon dinner. Desert was an awesome chocolate, berry and browned marshmallow. I am so happy we stumbled on this fine dining restaurant on the edge of Nye Beach area in Newport Oregon!”

“it is ok but for the price you think they would take their time to cook the proteins. the chicken, pork and salmon in my dishes were severely overcooked and the salmon not the best quality it was a bit fishy and old yet they still priced it as if it was fresh. if you are on the Oregon coast you shouldn't skimp on the seafood.”
