“Taipei is by far the best sushi and Chinese restaurant in the Fox Chapel area. The servers are courteous and the specialty sushi rolls are noticeabley larger and tastier than Jimmy Wan's. In my opinion, Taipei also offers a better selection than Jimmy Wan's. We also appreciate Taipei's complimentary fried wontons served before each meal and orange slices provided at the end of service. This family-friendly restaurant always make us feel at home.“

“Love this place. It's one of those lil hole in the wall type spots. Their lunch specials are unbeatable, under $8 for a full meal. The food is all cooked fresh and really good. The place is clean and staff are super friendly. Highly recommend!“

“My new go-to spot for Chinese cuisine (taking over Jade Grill’s spot). I ordered the General Tso’s chicken and it was delicious! The breading was perfectly crispy and the chicken wasn’t dry. It wasn’t spicy in my opinion, despite being described as such. Perhaps this is simply because of the demographic of the area it’s in—a lot of restaurants around here lower their spice levels. This is understandable and my meal was not lacking in flavor either way! I also got the crab rangoons and they had the most crab flavor compared to other ones I’ve tried here. My husband ordered the Pad Thai and dumplings which he said were delicious.

Unfortunately we did not dine in so I can’t comment on the service or atmosphere.

Overall, if you’re looking for a good spot for Asian/Chinese cuisine I recommend Castle Place.“

“Very tasty food with generous serving. Service is fine but can be further improved by more cheerfulness. Atmosphere is great: excellent decor, very nice table setting with linen table top and nice silver ware, very good location.

4.5 stars overall but there’s no option to give that. High value for the price.“

“I tried the buffet, and it was okay overall. The price matches the quality, everything is fairly average. They offer chicken, beef, and vegetables, and out of all the dishes, I liked the Tsao chicken the most. The soup was quite good, and the noodles were fine as well. The fried chicken was a bit dry during my visit.“

“I recently visited this Chinese café-restaurant, and I was really impressed! Their wonton soup and hot and sour soup are absolutely delicious—rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. The dish in the photo is orange chicken, which was incredibly tasty, especially with brown rice. Every bite was full of flavor, and the texture was just right.

Another great thing about this place is that they have an electric charging station, so for some people, it’s a great way to do two things at once—enjoy a delicious meal while charging their car. Overall, this place serves amazing food, and I highly recommend it.“

“Visiting from out of town. We live in central PA so there’s not much Japanese food. When it’s cold out katsu curry just hits the spot and theirs is absolutely delicious. Loved how the spice builds and the rice soaked up the curry. The beni shoga is delicious on top of curry dipped bites of katsu“

“Tried this place after I heard Bubba on the radio talking about. The food did not disappoint. Got the Szechuan Chicken. Sauce was amazing, veggies were still crunchy and the chicken was great. Support small businesses and check this place out. You won't be disappointed!“

“Tried Rice King for the first time and I’m glad I did. Ordered takeout of Hunan pork, vegetable lo-mein and steamed dumplings. Both vegetables and pork were very fresh and each dinner was seasoned as it should be with generous portions. The dumplings were large and savory.

I arrived few minutes early from pickup time given when I phoned my order to find everything ready and nicely bagged up. The owner greeted me when I entered and was pleasant to talk with. I’ll visit Rice King again.“

“Anyone who knows me, knows I love supporting small local businesses. The food was outstanding, but I was surprised at the plastic flatware/napkin in a sealed plastic bag and not real stainless steel flatware. Prices were inline with other Indian restaurants I have been to. Unfortunately, it's street parking in an already crowded street because of apartments. Would I recommend? Absolutely. Would I go back in the future? You bet I would!“

“I haven’t been here since before the Pandemic but I remember they had the best General Tso Tofu ? on my way home from work I use to order it and pick it up. The staff is really nice and friendly I need to go back. Great vegetarian sections.

“This place is hilarious. From my understanding the store is closed and they self-doordash to CMU.

You order by texting them on wechat from the couple options they have and they drive down to CMU everyday and meet you on campus in tepper to hand over your food like uberats.

My meal was 12 dollars for a tea, pork ribs, bok choy, shrimp, scrambled eggs and tomatoes and rice. It was delicious and incredibly cheap proportional to volume of food

10/10 would meet in the Tepper School of business alley again“

The atmosphere is welcoming, the women taking the orders and answering the phone are always nice and courteous. I've been ordering their food for 6 years now and I have never had 1 issue. If you get pad Thai and you like a lot of peanuts and lime ask for extra when ordering.

Downside is it was pricier than I expected. Two teas and two noodle dishes with an app and one dessert split was almost 80 dollars. But if I have the money I would go again in the future. I guess 35ish a person isn't bad in a higher end establishment. Glad I stopped in.“
