“We wanted to try a new place for breakfast and we selected the 81 Diner. It's been remodeled and under new ownership. I felt justified to leave 4-Stars but I'm leaving 5-Stars and the reason is that some slight changes could eventually be made. New Owners are working hard to establish and build up business. First, the inside is very nicely decorated and extremely clean Parking is perfect with plenty of spaces The dining staff were working fast and efficient, younger folks with very friendly and positive attitudes. Overall the Staff was Outstanding ! We only seen the Breakfast Menu, it was well planned and very easy to look over and make your selections. I was a little taken back at the cost of the Steak & Eggs, the Country Fried Steak and Ham Steak, both with Eggs as well, compared to other diners, it seems a little costly. The food arrived freshly cooked and hot, which is nice and we ordered the sliced fried potatoes, these need to be improved, no flavor, adding just a pinch of seasoning would take this many steps up. I had the Pancakes, Eggs and Sausage which were standard breakfast food. Deb had the French Toast, Eggs and Bacon, same standard breakfast food. This indeed is a nice little diner, I would bet they will continue improving as each day goes by. We will give them a try for lunch one day“

“During Lent Season, we frequent Big Mike's Crabhouse on a Friday, typically late afternoon. We try to beat the crowd, as this restaurant is not that big, but the seafood is absolutely delicious! Service is always excellent!!!! Big Mike's is a very relaxed atmosphere! They are a BYOB, so you can bring your favorite adult beverages if you choose to do so!!! If you choose to have an entree, but do not wish to have the sides, they will adjust the price! I love their cod fish (2 pieces), but don't always want the French fries, etc., they will serve you just the fish and adjust your bill accordingly. The pound of shrimp is always cooked to perfection, we have our shrimp served with melted butter and cocktail sauce, so delicious!!! If you're in Hanover and love seafood, stop by!!!!“

“Always great! Biggest crabs, well seasoned, delicious. The shrimp macaroni salad is so good!!! The fried chicken is crispy and tender. The take home and cook crab cakes are MD proud! I love the food here and the people who run it. Thanks for always making my summer party the most delicious!!!“

Not only were the crabs affordable considering the time of season but they were absolutely spot on delicious as I remember hot Maryland steamed crabs should be! “I went with family for Easter dinner. Reservations only. There were 15 in our group. When we arrived we were seated immediately, table was ready, no waiting. Limited menu for Easter. All entrees included baked potato & salad. I chose broiled scallops for my entrees. A dozen jumbo scallops cooked to perfection. I had to take half home. Service was outstanding. Restaurant was packed, even with the reservation only policy service was great. Food terrific.“

“First time here and we will definitely be back!! This place was suggested by a lovely lady at the Yesteryear Antique Center. We are from Maryland and know where THE Best crabcakes are from so we had to try Dutch Country's Crab Cake since the menu says --You have never had any like theirs! And YES, my hubby and I agree--They were fantastic!! The menu is very big, even the pickiest eater will find something they want!Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on 1 side of the doors.“
