“I can imagine this place getting packed after work and on weekends. I was in town and stopped here. Was lucky it was Wednesday for the special of the day. I LOVE hot dogs. Got the Chicago with fries and a Weldwerks POG Gelato. All was delicious- the dog, the fries and the beer. Service was awesome and they were friendly. I asked for recommendations and they don’t fail. 100% worth the visit.“

I had the highly rated smash burger, and it definitely lived up to the hype—really flavorful and one of the highlights of the meal.

We ended up sitting inside, but if you catch a nice day, I’d recommend eating outside. They have a unique tented outdoor setup that looked like a great place to hang out and enjoy a meal. Overall, a really enjoyable brunch spot in Pittsburgh!“

“Visiting Pittsburgh over the weekend and couldn’t miss our Buckeyes vs TTUN. Mike’s Beer Bar was recommended, and it was hands down one of the best game day bar experiences we’ve ever had. The atmosphere was incredible, drink menu (both on tap and cans) showing a plethora of choices to satisfy anyone, and great food. The staff was second to none and very friendly as well. “Great Food and Atmosphere, Some Service Concerns I recently moved to the Braddock Hills area and was excited to revisit this spot, which used to be Folie’s a few years back. The food here is absolutely delicious, and it’s the perfect place to grab a bite, enjoy a margarita, and relax. That said, I’ve had a few experiences with a particular staff member that were concerning. While most of the team has been friendly and welcoming, However, barmaid (JESS who served me February the 7th around 1:49 p.m.) has been noticeably short and dismissive on a couple of occasions. For example, there were times when she rolled her eyes or responded curtly when I greeted her, even though previous visits had been pleasant. I even had an instance where my drink was placed at the very edge of the bar in a way that felt intentionally difficult. I did call to bring this to the manager’s attention to address it, no and she allegedly answered the phone as the manager, and to my experience the manager is a gentleman as well as the owner. I wanted to share it here as well. I’ve spoken with other patrons who’ve noted that her personality can sometimes affect the overall experience. While I understand everyone can have an off day, consistent professionalism and courtesy are essential in customer service, especially in a neighborhood gem like this one. Overall, I truly enjoy this restaurant—the food, ambiance, and most of the staff make it a wonderful place. Where New Amsterdam lost me was advertising “Jumbo Fresh Wings” but serving us party wings aka wing dings. I believe it was the kitchen manager who dropped our food off to us. She placed our food down and I was confused so I hollered after her “hey! Wait, we ordered jumbo wings. These are the jumbo wings?” to which she responded over her shoulder “I just make what they order” and kept walking. We were 2 of 9 people in there on a Tuesday night. She could’ve at the very least stopped to speak to the paying customer(s) or grabbed her boss. The saving grace is that the flavors were good. Not sure if it’s worth paying $1.50 per party wing or the subpar service from the kitchen staff, but good enough. Very misleading and bad business practices. Either drop the price or serve people what they ordered.“
