“Great east meal in Ardmore. Been getting the poke bowl here for years. It is still my gold standard for poke bowls. I’m yet to have one anywhere else that comes even close. It’s huge as well so it’s a good value. My family eats here every week. It’s consistently good and the employees are wonderful. I recommend the crunch bowl with extra crunch and avocado.Parking: If you are eating dinner at the restaurant I recommend parking just behind where the bank is. Once the bank is closed the parking is up for grabs and it’s right next door.Kid-friendliness: My little nephew loves to come here and they are super sweet to him.“
“The only Thai place I will order from in the entire Philadelphia vicinity. The best staff. The best food. The best experience. I will forever give JJ Thai my business and always recommend them to friends & family. By the way, if your server is Air, be prepared because she is the absolute best server I have came across in any restaurant. I worked in the service industry myself, and to come across someone like Air is truly a blessing. She is so friendly, goes above and beyond, and always ensures the best customer service. Thank you JJ Thai and thank you Air for continuous unforgettable experiences.“
“Nice atmosphere, the waiter was really attentive, lots of options on the menu and the food came out quickly and tasted amazing. I also loved that they had a lot of different mocktails on the menu. I got Dan Dan noodles and the sunset marteani and everything was so good. Would definitely come again to try more of their “
“Amazing place! Authentic Thai restaurant, family owned with great, outrageously delicious food. I am not exaggerating. Ordered Chicken Satay and a Chicken on Tamarind sauce. Sophisticated flavor, presentation, great service and ambiance. New favorite!“
“This place is just recently opened and received pretty good reviews, so I decided to try it out.everything we ordered was tasty with a generous portions, but the flavor was just too sweet for me and my boyfriend. I know Thai food is sweet, but this is another level of sweet. And the coconut noodle soup, it has no flavor and tasted so coconuty. It would have been better if they use rice noodle or glass noodle instead of vermicelli noodle. The ambience is plain, but it looks new and clean. The color of the building looks unattractive in my opinion.Service is good, but it takes awhile for the food to come out. They seem to be more busy with takeout orders.Overall, a decent Thai food with good portion and reasonable price. Tip: pay in CASH, you’ll get 5% off and they also accept Venmo.“
“Was a fan of the old La Na before it went downhill a little before pandemic lockdown. This is in same location but new management and it seems like they are back to providing really good, fresh Thai food! All the vegetables were vibrant and crisp. The sauces were light and fragrant. The establishment seemed to be cleaned up. They could use a dining room refresh but it does give you the feeling of an authentic Thai restaurant, a lot of deep reds, dark browns and black. Service was fun and pleasant! Can’t wait to go back!“
“Anchan is a culinary treasure trove that promises an authentic Thai dining experience like no other. From the moment you step foot into this cozy establishment, you’re greeted with warmth & hospitality that’s as genuine as the flavors they serve. Owners Apple & Adam set the tone with their welcoming demeanor, ensuring every visit feels like a homecoming. The staff, armed with a wealth of knowledge about Thai cuisine, guide you through a menu brimming with tantalizing options. From the zesty Tom Yom soup to the delicate vegetable dumplings & refreshing Som Yom salad, each starter sets the stage for a culinary adventure. The Pad Thai, a perennial favorite, delights with its harmonious blend of flavors, while the crispy duck emerges as a true star, boasting unparalleled succulence & flavor. But the delights don’t end there. Anchan’s curry dishes, such as the green curry with vegetables & tofu, showcase the restaurant’s mastery of Thai flavors, leaving taste buds tingling with delight. And let’s not forget the blue of anchan itself, a charming touch that adds to the restaurant’s allure! From the Anchan rice & tea to the coconut ice cream, every dish is a testament to the culinary prowess of this beloved Thai eatery. In a sea of dining options, Anchan stands out as a beacon of excellence, earning its place as a favorite among Thai food enthusiasts. If you’re in search of an unforgettable dining experience that’s as delightful as it is delicious, look no further than Anchan!“
“I recently visited Grandma Philly with my husband and we had an amazing dining experience! The Thai dishes were absolutely delicious and we couldn't get enough. Our server, Hunter, was not only attentive and friendly, but also super cool and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a date night. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you Grandma Philly and Hunter for a fantastic evening!“
“I have both had takeout and dined in at Chatayee. Food is always delicious and I appreciate all of their vegan and vegetarian options (there is even a separate vegan menu!) The waitress I had was incredibly sweet, lovely, and knowledgeable of the menu! I was with a big group and she handled us with grace and ease.“
“So happy to see one of my favorite food trucks is back! Food still slaps after all these years. Love the chicken katsu, which is so crispy and juicy, and I enjoyed a delicious platter today. You can choose tacos, burrito, platter or a burger for the protein options. The peanut curry chicken over rice is also phenomenal but only available on Monday and Tuesday. I’ll be back soon for that plus some shrimp katsu. The folks on the truck couldn’t be nicer!“
“An unassuming thai restoraunt in the middle of nowhere (at least to me as a visitor of the city). It was a small cozy resto with decent service and some lowkey décor. Gold coloured cups was a plus. Chicken skewers - White meat was dry, but the peanut sauce was really good. Pad see ew - pad see ew was tasty. The stirfried dish was seasoned well with lots of different flavour. It was only missing a bit of char, otherwise really good. Would recommend. Some decent food, but as a tourist to the city, I would not be coming back. There are other restos for me to try. But as a local, I can see myself coming back to grab casual meals.“
“I've been a customer of Trio BYOB for almost a decade. And I can honestly say they're the best Thai restaurant in the city. Everything is always tasty and fresh. I like the fact that they have their own ordering website which works very well so you don't have to deal with tech disruptors and they also do their own delivery. The delivery guy is friendly, courteous and kind. But getting back to the food, they also offer creative specials which you can also order via delivery, as well as dining in. That includes desserts. And what desserts! Hazelnut torte, panna cotta. Very impressive. I rave about this place to everyone I know. Stop by and experience Thai food that is a cut above.“
“We stopped in close to closing for takeout and Joy at the counter was delightful and helpful. We ordered Massaman curry and Thai tea and both were made quickly. Now that we are home, we are discovering that their food is EXCELLENT. We look forward to going back and dining in.“
“This place is top notch, haven’t had a bad meal over here. Sushi rolls are all fresh & delicious. The best chicken teriyaki in the area by a mile! Great pad thai tooMy favorite item is the chicken pineapple curry fried rice, hits every time. I just picked up some takeout and forgot my drink inside, while sitting in my car their employee ran out and brought the drink out to me! Killer customer service over here too, I’ll keep coming back“
“The Crispy Chicken Basil is my favorite dish. Chicken is tender while lightly fried with sweet basil. Batter shipped green beans are delicious. Everything was spiced just right. Spicy but not too spicy. You may ask for extra. Service is exceptional. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommend Viman Thai restaurant.“
“Amazing food!! We got the Beef Pad Thai spice level 5 and it was super super spicy and super good! This is my first time ordering from here and I will definitely be ordering more! One of the best Pad Thai ! The portions are huge ! But very filling and highly recommended! Must try and glad this place is local to us. These pictures represent just one serving“
“Diving into Golden Triangle unveils not just a meal, but a passport to a culinary expedition specializing in the Southeast Asian flavors of Thailand, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Tucked away in the heart of Philly, this humble gem offers an intimate escape to distant lands with its quiet, casual ambiance and a cozy dining room that boasts no more than eight tables. Our adventure began with the Malaysian classic, Roti Canai -- a delightfuly crispy, flaky, chewy marvel that serves as a prelude to the symphony of flavors awaiting us. Paired with a rich curry chicken potato dip, this dish was a standing ovation in the making. Then came the Sambal Shrimp, a bold ensemble of shrimp reveling in a spicy brown sauce, creating a festival of taste that had every fork in the room longing for an encore. The Beef Rendang, while a masterpiece of flavor and tenderness with its slow-cooked, aromatic curry, left us longing for a second act, as the disappointing portion size was more of a soliloquy than a full-fledged aria.Despite the small dining room, Golden Triangle played the perfect host to our group of six (including a baby car seat), accommodating us at their sole large table--a testament to their ability to harmonize space and service. While the Mee Goreng and Penang Char Kway Teow flavors were well balance and added depth to our culinary journey, both dishes lacked a bit of the smoky "wok hay" that I was yearning for. The Burmese Kimchi introduced a zestful twist to the meal as it was our first time trying any Burmese food, but it wasn't particularly memorable. In the end, the Roti Canai and Sambal Shrimp emerged as our favorites of the night.Overall, Golden Triangle is more than a dining destination; it's a quiet nook where flavors dance and diners are invited to a show that tantalizes the taste buds and warms the heart. With its intimate atmosphere and welcoming vibe, it stands out as a beacon for those seeking an immersive culinary experience in Center City. Here's to more explorations at this quaint culinary corner, where the world feels both vast and intimately close, all within the confines of its quiet, casual dining room.“
“They have a $10 lunch special which is unheard of in this economy - it's fallen off the website's menu but you can get any of the typical thai favs (red curry, drunken noodles, etc.) with rice and a side salad. Generous portions, too. Just be sure to call ahead to ensure they're offering it before going in! I'm always a fan of a fried wonton and their golden bags are a good app to pair with your lunch special entree.“
“This was a surprise on our 5th night in Philly. We had a group of small plates. Pork dumpling in chili oil, glazed sting beans, Indian pancakes with curry, peking duck buns, and Singapore noodles. If the food is this quality all the time, they have hit a home run. Add in the excellent drinks menu with well crafted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and there is nothing to fault here. Would definitely come back.“
“I had fried rice with chicken and steak. It was delicious. Only problem was I ask for mild but I didn't taste anything spicy at all not even a lil kick. Next time I'm going to try hot. But overall nice neighborhood right next to Rita water ice. Great customer service and great first dish. I definitely recommend people to try Thai food from here.“
“While the dusty old interior might give you pause, this is one of the best OG Thai meals in town. Fresh, tasty, and plentiful, the food here is like being welcomed by a most hospitable Thai mom (and yes, the kitchen is run by authentic Thai chefs). Deliciously wholesome and satisfying every time (and vegetarian and vegan accommodating). Plus, the waitstaff embody that same authentic hospitality -- always warm, attentive, and gracious. This restaurant is truly a neighborhood gem.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options, and the kitchen will accommodate vegan too :)Dietary restrictions: The kitchen can make special accommodations.“
“My husband and I were at the Spector center for squash and looking for a good place for dinner. We popped over to Lemon Grass and had a delicious dinner with the nicest staff. The drunken noodles were just what I needed on a cold, rainy night.I ended up leaving my purse there and they were super nice getting back to me letting me know they had it. They even let us pick it io before they opened. We will definitely be going back there!“
“Need a tasty authentic lunch before you meander through the Mutter (which has no restaurant)? The dear lady here interrupted cutting and folding her banana leaves to seat a weary traveler taking a few hours of “medical me-time.” Simple and clean, small homely place, only a few steps from the museum. My soup, followed by Tilapia were both super tasty and presentation was impeccable. Belly filled with Thai tasty treats, I took on the museum with vigor and excitement.“
“Great little place + very decent prices for these days, i've been steady disappointed by Thai lately and can't afford even a lot of hole in the wall places. It's very rare that a curry is fully flavorful, they were nice, simple cute spot, definitely was busy with tons of takeout, cooked fresh so there was a bit of a wait which seemed normal considering it's a small spot. Rare to find a place worth going back! The Thai iced tea was correct!“
“I stopped in by myself on a brutally hot summer evening looking for cold, light food. The vegetarian naam salad was over-the-top delicious. Crunchy and sweet/savory, served with crisp, fresh lettuce leaves for wrapping. Delightful on a hot night. Pad See Eew was a heavier dish, a little bland and pasty (corn starch?), and was better when I added lime and chili oil. The service was outstanding, the ambiance and air conditioning delightful. Definitely worth a visit.“
“Ordered the coconut salmon and it did not disappoint. Incredible sauce with a perfectly cooked piece of salmon. The spicy flavoring really gave it a unique kick. Absolutely delicious, only thing that would have made it perfect is that I would have liked slightly more rice to balance out the sauce-heavy dish.“
“Me and My Bestfriend took a hour long bus ride just to get some food from here it is that delicious an worth it and they not stingy on they portions like all hood Chinese stores they were friendly great customer service I will definitely be going “
“Absolutely amazing Thai food to go. We ordered the Fried Tofu (super crispy and firm but not dried or greasy), shumai (pretty good but a bit dense and could not really make out the shrimp or crab), fantastic Tom ka (order it spicy!), pad Thai, drunken noodles, and sweet and sour chicken for the kids! The noodles were good and spicy and the kiddos loved the sweet and sour. It was such good chicken, the adults even enjoyed. But the cherry on top was the absolutely kind and sweet phone and in person service - which is becoming a diamond in the rough. Super impressed from the first hello to the last bite!“
“Didn’t go there ordered from door dash so I can’t rate atmosphere . I added things in the order and I got all the extra things I asked for in the specialInstructions. Most places ignore that or don’t allow you to do that. The food is delicious they package everything so nicely I’ve only ordered two times but this place is my new go to! Give them a try youWon’t be disappointed.“
“An underrated gem, we were told by a mutual friend who happens to be Cambodian, to try out this place for good Thai food in Manayunk. Got take out and we were really not that hungry so ordered just the Noodles and Thai curry. The portions were generous, wait time was short and food tasted good. It was slightly heavy on the fish sauce and that's why not great to my liking . Will definitely give them another try. Can't say much about the ambiance as it is a take out spot.“
“Big fan of Thai food and sometimes hard to find places that have vegetarian curry without fish sauce, but this place does it! Might be my favorite Thai place in Philly! They are also so great about customizing dishes and adding vegetables, etc. Also very good about accommodating allergies. Highly recommend the red curry, chive cakes, spring rolls, and Thai iced coffee!Vegetarian options: Curry can be made without fish sauceDietary restrictions: VegetarianSesame seed, coconut, tree nut allergies“
“The food here is overall very good. The green curry is spot on, I think we got medium spiciness which was perfect. The massaman was only OK, not authentic, I won’t order it again. The staff are lovely. I haven’t eaten in so can’t comment on the atmosphere.“
“The last two times we ordered two maki combos and some tom yum soup. Delicious and price is fine for todays prices I guess.. I think the sushi has gotten better these last two times, I don't knwo why but it was amazing. Love this place.“
“The salmon was really tender and delicious. The rice however was really mushy and grainy? This was my first time trying Thai food so maybe that’s how it’s supposed to taste. I can’t speak on service and atmosphere because the food was bought for me. I wouldn’t eat the rice again but the grilled salmon and chicken spring rolls were great.“
“Spicy Chicken Thai Fried Rice along with Fried Pork Dumplings (8pc) and . Bun Bo Hue (Hue Spicy Noodle Soup) was so delicious... I always order from here and had only one bad experience other than that, the food is always fresh, flavorful and delicious!!! Will be ordering again...“
“Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! My husband and I dined here early on a Friday evening. We had the tofu and steak appetizers, Tom Yum soup, green curry, and coco-shrimp.Everything was delicious, flavorful, and came out hot! Service was prompt and efficient. We will definitely be back for dining in or take out in the future!“
“Excellent food. Fine quickly to order. Staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions. Especially request like food allergies are handled without question. Spicy level is managed well. I'm not had a bad meal here. I just wish they sold the soup and gallon drugs because it's so good.“
“Got take out tonight for me and my parents and everything was absolutely delicious!!My dads go to is the Tom yum soup and it’s his favorite soup ever! Kind of the only time I see him enjoy eating vegetables! He gets the vegetable one even!I got the massaman chicken curry and it was the best comfort curry ever! The sauce is creamy and awesome flavor with the peanut and classic curry veggies! It was really tastySorry I didn’t take a pic cause I’m eating the leftovers right now and just needed to review“
“On behalf of the Thai Orchid team, we sincerely appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to address your concerns. We take all reviews seriously, as they help us improve our service. However, upon careful review of your comments, we find it important to clarify some inaccuracies.Firstly, we apologize if the timing of our kitchen closure caused any inconvenience. We aim to provide a pleasant dining experience for all our guests. It's essential to note that our servers adhere to closing times to ensure a smooth operation. We value our customers and aim to communicate effectively during such transitions.Regarding the review of another member of your party (Elaine S.) the mention of our employees not being authentically Thai, we want to emphasize that our diverse team brings a wealth of cultural perspectives, contributing to our inclusive atmosphere. It's crucial to avoid assumptions about authenticity based on appearances. We were disheartened to read about the alleged altercation with our server. Our team strives to maintain a respectful environment, and we take such claims seriously. However, we would like to clarify that our employees are trained to handle various situations with professionalism.Concerning the surveillance camera issue, we assure you that our intention is to maintain a safe environment rather than intrude on our guests' privacy. We apologize if this made you uncomfortable, and we will ensure clearer communication about our security measures. We have been proudly serving the community for 20 years, and we regret that your recent experience did not meet our usual standards. We regret any dissatisfaction with the food and perceived behavior of our server. We would like to invite you back to give us an opportunity to ensure your experience aligns with the high standards we set for ourselves. All the best,Thai orchid teamOriginal post:In regards to Elaine S review made on 12/13/2023Hello, on behalf of the Thai Orchid team we are very sorry to hear about your negative dining experience! For clarification, our kitchen staff/management has remained unchanged for two decades and if race is really all you see when you eat your food we apologize but we don’t see race as a factor in one’s ability to cook food from a different culture. They have trained under our family for years and we see them as our family. After reviewing the camera footage and speaking to the staff on sight, we can confirm that you all finished your dinner and dessert and asked for boxes. Your party appeared inebriated and became belligerent with your server (he/him) after being politely reminded at 8:45 that we closed fifteen minutes prior and kindly asked to start wrapping things up. Your server did not demand for your party to leave immediately. He then contacted me, the manager, not the police, in order to confirm the closing time at which point you spoke to the manager and were allowed to remain until 9:00. Unfortunately, a member of your party became more agitated and attempted to grab your server's phone, take pictures of him without his consent after being reminded that we have surveillance, and threatened him. We take transgressions against our staff very seriously. Contrary to your recollection, we were also notified that your party waited in the parking lot until our staff had finished their shift to flip them off before leaving. Again, we are sorry for your experience but wanted to clear up any misconceptions.Thank you,Thai Orchid Team“
“We recently lost our Aunt and Da Shin was her favorite place to go, so on the night before her funeral, a bunch of family went in for dinner! The service was great and the food was just as good! We gave 4-stars because the atmosphere could use some cosmetic updating but other than that, it's a great local place to get some good Chinese food with attentive service!“
“I love the food at East Cuisine! It is always fresh, and the servers are exceptional! I bring my ninety nine year old father here. He loves the shrimp tempura appetizer. Very generous helping! He also loves the miso soup.Parking: Plenty of spaces“
“Venturing into a culinary escapade at "Surise 2" became a highlight for our group, especially for our friends visiting from Baltimore. This dining experience was more than just a meal; it was a journey through delectable Thai cuisine that left a lasting impression. The unexpectedly light and non-greasy fried rice not only surprised us but also became an instant favorite among our party. Our customary Pad Thai "litmus test" received high marks, adding to the overall positive vibe of the evening. The standout moment, however, was the owner's generous gesture of gifting us a serving of crab Rangoon on the house. This unexpected treat showcased the restaurant's commitment to ensuring a memorable experience for its patrons.Sharing this adventure with our friends from Baltimore added an extra layer of enjoyment, turning a simple dinner into a shared experience filled with laughter and camaraderie. We're eager to return to "Surise 2" and explore more of their menu, knowing that each visit promises not just delicious Thai dishes but also a welcoming atmosphere that makes dining there a genuine pleasure.Vegetarian options: Fried tofu in the curry was amazing.Parking: Lancaster avenue Street parking can be difficult at times.“
“If you are looking for a secret place, this place is that spot. If you adore Mom and Pop restaurants with a pallette for creativity, do not look any further outside of this menu.I called in trying to find some vegan options since everything sounded amazing. The family went above and beyond to make sure what I ordered was vegan. They even called me back to verify what I could and could not eat for clarification even though there was a language barrier. They made sure to double check in person the second day. They made me feel as if I was home and the flavors were fresh and made with love.It was like fine dining made with comfort. The prices you can not beat anywhere for those portions And flavors. The menu was definitely made by a Chef with an awesome pallet for creativity which is meticulously refined. The dishes are homemade from what I ordered down to the peanut sauce. Mouthwatering.Buns are not vegan....but I was told they are made from scratch and they are vegetarian if you don't add meat.Authentic Thai Cuisine in my opinion. Just the spicy peanuts alone with these Thai limes. Wow.The rice is flavorfully fresh and seasoned. The summer wraps are a breath of fresh air.I had to order two days in a row for how addicted I am. If I was not from out of town, this would be my go to spot a couple times a week.“
“This is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant. I work in Conshy and we frequent here for their amazing lunch special. Soup/App/Entree that’s 14 bucks! My favorites are the Tom Yum Soup, Thai Dumplings, and Evil Jungle Princess or Drunken Noodles! They have 4 levels of spicy with level 4 being Thai Spicy and that is amazingly good! Spicy but still so flavorful. Everything I have ever gotten has been delicious and fresh and are always willing to accommodate any requests I have. The staff is always pleasant and quick but you don’t feel rushed. I live outside of Conshy and brought my friend this week to try and we both agree it’s worth the 30 minute drive!! Don’t skip the Thai iced tea, that is also delicious! I can’t recommend this place enough.“
“Best Vietnamese noodles shop in Philadelphia China town. We go every time when visit Philadelphia for many years. Food quality is consistently good. We ordered special beef noodle soup and BBQ pork chops. Other people also asked what is my order since the pork looks so good and smells so good too. They are also nice people that allow our dog in, sit under the table.“
“Blind order via Door Dash....1st try.Called to vet the spot.. I got questions!Septo picked up... he was super cool and advised me that they were closing for the day at 3pm and assured me that if I ordered they would deliver by 530 ish as they reopen at 5pm He answered my questions and we hung up. Order pre placed and I waited. Nervous as my stomach doesn't like surprises lolFood came...it was still on the warm side and I tasted.. wow I was happy.I requested my onions be chopped down finely.. and asked for sweet and sour sauce.. they missed the mark on those but food was tasty. Thai Fried Rice with Extra Chicken...no tomatoes No Broccoli. Simple like I like it.Thank you! I will visit & Order again.“
“First time here and upon entering, I was happily surprised by how nice the inside looks. It’s very tastefully decorated, and the layout isn’t crowded at all—it’s not a big place but they didn’t “overstuffed” the place like many small restaurants do.I had pad see ew and my husband had drunk noodle. Both taste good, but personally I think the drunk noodle tasted better. My pad see ew is a bit too tangy/sweet.Service is attentive and friendly. Overall we are very happy with our dining experience tonight. Do plan to come back soon.“
“I had the seafood Pho, OMG it was sooo good ? This was my 1st time eating Pho and I'm happy my 1st was here, because it was good. The staff seemed really friendly and helpful. It's a small restaurant with a lot of personality. I would definitely eat here “
“Super convenient location with parking. Excellent vegetable tempura the best I've had from a small business. The steamed dumplings were also excellent. I'm used to crispier Gen Tao, but the sauce had a nice kick. Take out or dine in. For take out, I recommend that you order once you arrive because everything stays crispy and fresh if it doesn't sit around. Let's support this small business!Wheelchair accessibility: I don't recall any steps to the entrance. There might be a curb.“
“Great customer service. I was here a few weeks ago and the gentleman who helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had asked for a few Szechuan sauces, and he gave me two excellent choices. When I was leaving, he addressed me by my first name and said goodbye and good luck. Thanks guys!“
