The business is run by an elderly couple who clearly enjoy their work even though they might not be a good as they were 30 years ago. But they're kind and take pride in the business. This is the closest you'll get to the quality of NYC chinese food in the area, though Lucky Star in Roxborough is a go to favorite as well.“

I was a solo table but still treated like a queen with lots of servers checking in, giving water and smiling. The roast duck in black bean sauce on the cast iron plate was SCRUMPTIOUS. It comes with a healthy side of white rice and delicate, flavorful bok choi. The skin was crispy yet NOT oily or greasy. The CHUNKS of tender duck meat were excellent. The sauce was thick, savory and yummy. FOODGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The portion was so healthy that I was able to take a container home for lunch the next day. Then I ordered the Mudslide ice cream pie for dessert. PERFECTION. Dense, creamy, sweet but not cloying with nut accents, fresh strawberries and cream as garnish. Cool treat on a humid Summer night. When the bill came, I was shocked that it was less than $40. I did not order a cocktail because I wanted to concentrate on the food. I gave them a big tip and said I am absolutely returning. I am also addicted to their spring rolls too. Two perfect crunchy flaky rolls filled with a balanced combination of shrimp, cheese, and cabbage that you can dip in duck sauce or mustard or just enjoy plain.“

It is not gourmet but the average Chinese restaurant is the best. The people is super nice. The guy cooking is real Chinese and you can tell that he cares. You go to other places, and they just put a bunch of broccoli with a little bit of sauce and they call it Vegie Mix, here, you get a variety of vegetables. The food WAS NOT salty at all, natural.“

In a desperate need to feed the family without time to go grocery shopping, I finally tried Golden Key. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and food is as decent as I make from scratch at home.

Most notably, they seem to make an effort to wash their vegetables really well. I can rarely eat restaurant vegetables 'cause they're so poorly cleaned & still covered in industrial ag chemicals (I work in the industry, as such I'm sensitized to the chemicals. General Tso chicken wasn't a thick liquid of sugar like most places around here. Their’s has layered flavors which hits the spot. “Little Basil has become our go to place for carry out Chinese food near Broomall! Love the food and the woman who always hands me the order is wonderful. They also accommodate our request for minimal/low/no salt, which is important for our health restrictions.

“Got a general tso combo platter. Super fast, the staff is very friendly, and the portion size is easily double anywhere else in east mount airy for a dollar or two less. Downside is the chicken was not crispy, and it was barely in the box for 5 minutes so i know it didnt get soggy that way. Also the fried rice and egg roll were only so so. Because of the huge portion im having some of the chicken for lunch the next day, 100 percent better cold so it isn't soggy.“

“The general tso's sauce IS the best! I get the general tso's tofu (don't knock it till ya try it) and it's great every single time. Their tofu(or whatever)+ broccoli (brown sauce) is really good as well. I don't usually get the fried rice but I recall it being decent. Not a sit in restaurant and it isn't the most welcoming store front as another person as mentioned, but the food is fast and delicious and I have never had a single issue.

The general tsos are super good and have a nice flavor and consistency and the wings are also great. I prefer their fried rice as a side to their lo mein but can't go wrong with either.
