“After being stuck in mud for 2 hours at the Memorial Day events in Boalsburg, I needed a place to unwind. New to the area and The Bar was highly recommended, so I stopped in. It eas exactly what I missed from where I'm from. Bartender was great. This is definitely a place I'd come back to.“

“We cannot praise the Gamble Mill enough! For our wedding, we had our ceremony and reception on the lawn outside the Gamble Mill and cocktail hour inside their Speakeasy event space and Republic Bar. The venue surpassed our expectations and made our special day truly unforgettable. Since then, we have received endless compliments on the venue! The staff went above and beyond, and we captured the most stunning pictures. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an unforgettable wedding experience.“

“There's always a fun & friendly crowd here! It's nice to go into a place & actually have full conversations with people that I don't even know. The bartenders are knowledgeable & welcoming. I like the party themes; Halloween, Ugly Christmas Sweater, Mardi Gras...it's so fun dressing up! They always find a reason to bring the community together!!! “This is an interesting bar in downtown State College because it's right in the midst of everything (it is right next to the Gaff), but it has a very different vibe to it. It is attached to a nice restaurant so it is a more upscale casual than the super casual nature of the bars around it.It is interesting to go there because they have traditional furniture and makes you feel like you're in a place of some history. They make good cocktails, and this is a nice place to go if you're looking to enjoy the nightlife downtown without rowdiness or blasting music. It is a good place for conversation and the candlelit tables feel very intimate. It is not a huge place which will also get swamped on big weekends like Arts Fest and Blue and White.“

“We stopped by here as part of a Friday afternoon bar-hopping adventure in downtown State College. It was a little tighter and louder than we’d like, but that’s to be expected. We each had one drink and shared the fried pickles. We each liked the drinks but the pickles were just OK. We will probably be back but it won’t be our first choice when choosing places in the downtown area.“

“Great industry bar, very friendly staff unless you break the rules. You will be thrown out without hesitation (yes I've been kicked out a few times, it was always my fault). I will always come back, special shout out to Sam for being a great up and coming bar tender in the area.
Super creative drunk selection, id argue they have the most custom drinks out of any bar. Karaoke on Sundays can be really fun. If you're looking to spend money on top shelf just ask they have some super expensive alcohol they don't display.“
“Is a Rock Bar so cool. The bartenders are so friendly. Every Saturday you can sing at the rock karaoke. Is the perfect place we want to go always after party. Bar hours are so good closing at 2 am which is so good in Bellefonte. Very nice people to make new friends. There is a Pool table to play whenever you want. Nice clean and big Restrooms. You can choose the rock song you want to listen at the jukebox. It reminds me all the places I used to go before. They sell chips and hot dogs and all the drinks you prefer. You can buy a t-shirt with the name of the bar so comfy. See you there. Rock on !!!“

“My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stop for food after watching a movie, and we loved the food! We had the ability to make reservations online or order ahead but didn't really have a need to. The food came out quick and had great flavor. The cocktails were perfect not too strong not too weak. The prices were very reasonable as well! Our waitress was very nice and it wasn't super busy so it was a nice chill atmosphere I would definitely go again and highly recommend!“

“I’ve never had such a personalized experience at a bar since I met Paulie from sharkies. Although it wasn’t necessary, Paulie came over to our table when he was bartending to see if we needed anything and ask how are night was. My friends and I love that fedora wearing man!!“

“We ate here for my birthday on Mother's Day and it was fantastic. I was there for work and my husband came to visit for my birthday. We didn't have a reservation, which was a problem since it was also graduation weekend, but they allowed us to sit at the bar and eat, which was fine by me! We started with the Surf and Turf rolls and lamb lollipops. Both were delicious! I had the Tavern Chicken for my main, while my husband had the Prime Rib. SO DELICIOUS!!!!!
Our meal was so great that I took the new manager of our store out for dinner there my last night in town. This time I had the Pross Scallops and she had the Peruvian Chicken.
I will be dreaming about those scallops forever they were so good. The fennel and apple slaw on top was the perfect finish to the scallops on a bed of purple mash. I might have to come back just to get those scallops... and the lemon cake I finished dinner with.
The service during both visits was spectacular and the drinks were also very good. Best place to eat in State College!“

“Doggie's has the best pizza in State College but even better than the pizza is the service!
Everyone I've come in contact with has always been happy and helpful. I went in to pick up 20, yes 20 Pizzas that the owners graciously donated to the PSU Men's Rugby team and it was the Banana Crawl weekend. As on can assume SC and Doggie's were packed! But our pizzas were hot and perfect!
Doggie's pizza is the #1 for me in State College!“

“Really enjoyed Doggie’s Pub. Great place to grab a pizza, watch a game, and settle in for “just one drink” that somehow lasts the whole game. It gets busy, but that’s part of the fun — friendly crowd, relaxed college vibe, and plenty of energy without feeling over the top. Solid spot to hang out in State College.“
