Thank God for Bill Pickles! After traveling through a hurricane for over six hours we were longing for a Penn State staple. We entered the corner bar at 8:05 only to be turned away. I have no issue with them turning customers away if that is their policy, but they advertise online to be open until 9 PM. Unacceptable. I had planned to go there before the evening rush, have a drink, and get some work done. Once it started getting crowded around 6:00, they seemed bothered by me occupying a table all by myself. The beer was good, but the service was poor. I don't think I'll be coming back. Thanks, though.
Genuinely the best bar at State College. Great food, great atmosphere, cheap drinks. I ordered the sweet pulled pork Mac n Cheese and its was amazing. I also got the Frozen Kentucky Coffee drink based on recommendations from my friend, that was great also. The atmosphere was the favorite part because it’s a country themed bar from the music to the decor. Came to State College for Ella Langley, stayed for Pickles.
