“Town Hall / Firehouse diner closed awhile back and my brother and I just "discovered" this "Restauran-tey Americana Classico" tucked in the center of town. Ambiance? My 2 star is why we love these places..it's a Diner..the ambiance is " I am hungry, let's eat". Food was very good, prices were great, family owned and operated. We were very pleasantly surprised because we had passed this place dozens of times, now it is a comfort food destination.“

“Excellent location which is shown by the line that's always there. There are so many options here it's sometimes hard to figure out what you want to go for - the fried chicken is definitely among the best you'll have from a family restaurant - definitely recommend, the wait is worth it!“

“Delicious local fare!They had a dish called "ham balls" as a special of the day. I'm up for adventure, so I tried it, and I wasn't disappointed! Wow, they're good! Basically, they're minced ham, formed into generously-sized balls (at least 2" in diameter), with pineapple sauce on top. They came with "pineapple filling," which tastes like bread pudding, but with pineapple mixed in. I could totally imagine having that, not as a side, but as dessert, topped with a scoop of ice cream! I didn't realize what it was when I ordered it, so, along with the custom side (I chose their yummy potato cakes), I ordered an extra side of veggies. The complementary white rolls they brought out tasted homemade (definitely not the cheap stuff).Needless to say, I couldn't finish everything, so I had to wrap up the leftovers (along with two extra ham balls) to go.Our server Deneen was really sweet, too. She answered our questions nicely and was perfectly attentive.“

“I was DUMMY hungry and stumbled upon this fine establishment. Upon arrival Sophia got us seated and was able to receive my food in a fantastic reasonable amount of time. I'm definitely coming back next time I get my vacation days approved. Will tell all my friends and family about this place.“

“Coming from New York particularly Queens where in Jackson Heights, there are a slew of really great authentic Colombian restaurants. The Reading PA area, I'm afraid to report, not so much. Then I found this gem. Not only were the people incredibly friendly and attentive, they came from the same part of Colombia where I'm from. Their food was absolutely authentic and delicious!! Now if thy could only add morcilla!! :D“

“First time visit yesterday. The cheeseburger sub, fries and cole slaw were all delicious!! Hidden under the lettuce and tomato in the photo, there were huge and juicy broiled burgers. Highly recommended and definitely worth a return visit. Friendly staff also. A+++“

“My family and I travel a lot and if you love authenticity and hidden gems, you’ll love Clair’s. If you’re looking for a gourmet experience, this probably isn’t the place for you. The place is super quaint - reminds me of an old 50’s diner mixed with grandma’s kitchen. The food was very homemade - the grilled cheeses and melts were awesome. Buttery and yummy. My son got chicken fingers with a side of homemade mashed potatoes. The potatoes were outstanding. My husband got Turkey with filling and it was fine. For dessert, we got homemade pumpkin pie and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing - both were amazing! The service - Amanda (Clair’s daughter) - was terrific. She was so nice. Made great suggestions and encouraged us to come back for their famous breakfast. We are from NYC and felt welcomed as out of towners. All in all - if you like authentic towny experiences - Clair’s is highly recommended.“

“Nice food! It is great for breakfast or lunch or dinner. It is not too expensive either. Which is always nice for how it can be this year in 2024. Nice staff. Very friendly and very knowledgeable about the food they’re serving. I prefer the breakfast over the lunch or dinner, but they’re all very good like I said. very good yes yes.“
