Hometown feel with olden decor and seasonal decorations as well as a few newer things such as casino games, mechanical dart board, and flat screen smart tvs. Weekly food and drink specials. It's a great place to visit with friends and acquaintances daily or for special events.“

“The Peanut Bar is one of my favorite places to visit in Carbondale. It's the "go to place" if you're looking for something to do or a good crowd to hang out with. The staff and bartenders are very kind and personable. Also, the Sweet and Spicy burger is one of my menu favorites. It has candied jalapeños, bacon, cheddar cheese, frizzled onions, and hot honey sauce on it. Get it with the hand cut fries and it is perfection! I highly recommend stopping in here and trying the food or any of their specialty drinks. I might have to go tonight because now I am thinking about the burger after writing this review. Haha. If this isn't for you, then take a short walk to the Cashew Lounge right behind it.“
“Stopped off the highway on the way home from a road trip. The S.O. was born in the area and his uncle is friends with the owner and his cousin had worked there growing up, so we wanted to give the support. Great little unassuming spot. Grabbed seats at the bar. Drinks were perfect. Had the cappelletti to start-cant find those in central NY so that was a special treat. Tuna melt special for me hit the spot. If only we lived closer, this would be a regular spot for us.“
“Visited a friend up in the area. We wanted a dive to kick back after a day of skiing. I cannot recommend M&Js enough. I travel a lot for work. I’ve been to countless restaurants, bars, dives, etc. … this place blew me and my buddies away. Service awesome, beers good, and the food was out of this world. Get the wings. Super crispy & the garbage sauce is awesome. Highly, highly, highly recommend“
“Stayed at the local hotel and was looking for pub grub. Was very pleased. Burger with their famous hog sauce and well seasoned fries hit the spot. Couple craft beer options and the usual macro beers. Tiny town, could feel the welcoming by their staff and their bar flies.“
“This is a hidden gem in the town of Carbondale. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere in here. The food is amazing and the chef really loves what he does. They do a trivia night which I didn't participate in personally, but I had so much fun just drinking coffee and having dinner while listening to the trivia night take place. Eric personally comes up with all of the questions and is interactive with all of the customers. I recommend trying the Guinness stew , it's out of this world!! I left there full and with a smile on my face! This is the kind of place you can bring the whole family. I highly recommend The Chip & Stone!“
