“Not the same as it was, but the new owner is passionate and the staff is top notch. I miss some of the charm of the old vibe, but the Pub is in the hands of someone who appears to care about the place, while following her own vision. “I I love this place.. All of the bar maid's are so nice. I have a few favorite's like Michelle, Jody, and Elise. Maxwells is a clean quiet peaceful little spot that go can go to and have a drink or two and don't have to worry about looking over your shoulder or watching your back while you do so..“

“Clean and good service. They have pool, darts, and outdoor seating. You can order food at the bar from Portofinos next door and they bring it over so you can eat at gormans. Their food is amazing and so reasonably priced, they also have different drink specials everyday, and many of them. The bartender Sam is a sweetheart and great at her job. She recognized me and my boyfriend by the second time we came in, remembered what drinks we got, and shes great at making conversation. We will definitely keep coming back“
“Best golf club in Pittsburgh. Everyone is so nice. The food and drink are excellent!! I would highly recommend heading out there and playing their beautiful course. Also the Owner is one of the best people I have ever met!“

“All I can say is EVERYTIME I get back into town I order Clancys food. Love the wings, fish sandwich and beer battered fries. My wife loves the fried mushrooms and the service. Cathy and Trish are amazing in the kitchen & Duane runs the bar perfectly.“

“Dive bar vibe - Dark & Vintage. They're hot cheese balls were pretty good. They were not the best cheese curds that I have ever had, but they were decent. If you like your cheese curds extra cheesy, these are for you. We also got 2 burgers were which were extremely large, & cooked well done which wasn't very good. The fries were subpar and the chips were just plain generic ruffle chips -not made in house or anything. I would have loved another option to not have a side. This place was not super expensive which was cool but probably wouldn't come here again.“

“I ate before arriving, so I didn’t have any of the food. But the kitchen was pumping out orders the entire time I was there. Drinks were generous with alcohol. Bartender was nice. Atmosphere was light, like I came with one friend felt like I knew everyone else I encountered. Good music choices were made on the jukebox. I enjoyed myself.“

They have a music box to play your own music if you like.Saturday night live Dj.Bingo as well on some night. “What a fun little spot to stop in for a drink before & after an event. We dropped by for the 1st time b4 the Pens game (& after if course). The owner Jimmy was so gracious, so friendly to talk with. The crowd wasn't too bad (we even started taking to a few other PENs fans, that was nice) , the food was really good. So if you're looking for a good place to hang out, grab a bite & a drink be sure to stop at Shale's. I know I'll definitely be back.“

“i have taken several people here visiting from all over PA and even Florida. Everyone loved it, it's like a dive bar from the past. Not fancy on purpose, not pretentious on purpose. The food is off the charts, wings, burgers, cheese steaks. They even have a tent set up for the covid. Do yourself a favor and find this gem.“

“This was our first time here and the breakfast/lunch bar was open. it was phenominal. great quality of food, tons of choices in buffet style containers to keep it hot. Everything from made to order omlettes, waffles, sausage, salad, pot roast, mashed potatoes, tender breakfast potatoes. my husband said it was the best omlette he has ever had. he had the Irish Omlette. Great staff. This was a huge win. very comfortable seating. The chef was also amazing“

“Love the new look! Nicely done 👍 the drinks are fun and the menu 😋 Hawaiian food!! Some dishes I never had and well made. The food is provided on plastic plates however it’s a bar. Totally understandable. Fun. Great selections of beer. Great music. The staff is kind. The food didn’t take long and the prices are right. Parking can be tricky. You just have to get lucky. But totally worth it. Love the roof top. Took my HS son for lunch and then another time for dinner with friends. They can also host private events, something to consider. Not handicap friendly. If you can definitely check it out. Kids okay during the day, I wouldn’t do evenings. Gets crowded and more of a bar scene.“
