Old Thunder Brewing Company Brewery • $$
340 Freeport Rd, Blawnox - 7.78 miles

“Such a thoughtful spot! Spacious high-ceilinged inside that’s upscale compared to many bareboned taprooms; love the breezy front deck (just wish it had more shade); on line tap list and food truck schedule is always up to date; they do many styles well; friendly bar staff; music is never too loud and playlists are fun. Appreciate a real sense of reliability! Proud to be regulars.“

Jackworth Ginger Beer Brewery •
6615 Hamilton Ave, Pittsburgh

“I came for their industry night and it was great. They have a variety of ginger beer (alcohol and non), cocktails, and local craft beer. The space is a modern and comfortable vibe. There is a small space with a fire pit to hang out outside as well. They did have a food truck while I was there this visit. Not sure if they will continue to have trucks-but there is definitely space for rotating food trucks. The ginger beers were great and their mule was super refreshing and delicious. I'm looking forward to them opening up full time soon.“

Conny Creek Brewing Brewery •
4323 Shearsburg Rd, New Kensington

“I wound up going here with a friend and enjoyed it. We went on a Friday after work, so it became very busy, but the staff couldn't have been friendlier. I didn't eat, but they seem to have a decent sized food menu with the kind of food you'd expect at a brewery (pizza, sandwiches, etc.), and they also seem to have regular specials such as smoked chicken night. They appear to have activities pretty regularly such as music trivia night, so that helps add a little fun into your evening out. They have a pretty nice list of draft options and they also have a decent sized cooler with 6-packs to take with you. Their Facebook page does a solid job on advertising specials and events, so they do give a heads up on the happenings.“

Inner Groove Brewing - Verona Brewery • $$
751 E Railroad Ave, Verona

“I had an event at the Verona tap room last night and it was amazing. Jennifer and the rest of the staff were so accommodating. We booked the tap room for 30 people and had plenty of space. They spun my vinyl records, played a movie that went along with the theme of my party and created a signature cocktail for my guests. I would strongly recommend having any of your functions at Inner Groove brewery.“

Acclamation Brewing Brewpubs • $$

“friendly bartenders. Tastes available for free. Wide variety of beers. Great views of the river. Pet friendly. Dogs welcomed in outside patio area. Large seating areas indoors including booths. Hard to find, tho, as it's a small hidden away type of place with very small parking area. Worth looking for if wanting river front ambiance. Small menu for appetizer type food.“

Strange Roots Experimental Ales Brewery • $$
977 5th Ave, New Kensington

“Love these funky beers. Brett/wild/mixed fermentation brews are my go to and SR specializes in them. Had one outstanding beer and one very good one during my visit. Have had many SR brews before this first visit to a SR Taproom. So glad that the in-person experience was so satisfying. Very friendly and helpful staff. Welcoming patrons. Excellent food. The area is a little depressed but the "downtown" area was quaint. Enjoyed the visit very much.“
