“Isn't really a fine in place say can't say the atmosphere is amazing. But I enjoy the food very much so. The appetizers are great and well-proportioned. I particularly like the boneless ribs. Portions are normal for a take out place. Don't have any complaints, if you are looking for solid, well priced chinese in the Croydon area then you just found it.“

“Only place that makes the BEST general tso chicken! Their fried dumplings are AMAZING too! Been my go to place for the past few years! They do a very good job at listening to special order request hence I hate onions I order it without there is not even one onion in my entree! Also it’s a very family atmosphere! More so I take out place than sit down and eat in. I wish the parking was better but for food like this I will deal with the hassle!“

“My husband and his family have gotten food from Sandy (owner) since he was a little boy and now he is in his 40s with a family of his own. Even though we don't live close by for delivery anymore, we still order from them and I will go and pick up the food. Their food is delicious, the price are reasonable and the service is great. Sandy and her team are awesome. When I go to pick up my food and get to watch her in action, it amazes me how she remembers her customers' names, thus the loyalty she gets from repeated customers. She is so nice too. Not only do we order food for our meals, I also like to order her food for parties that I host. Price are reasonable and my guests always compliments the food. Less cooking I need to worry about. Some of our favorites when we order are: general tso chicken, fried wonton (my husband only like hers), sum gum lomein, pork fried rice, chicken wings, boneless spare ribs (one of the best...i tried other places... not the same), spare ribs, stir fry pork bean sprout (i don't see this on other Chinese food menu), sweet and sour chicken. Shrimp egg foo young, and her soups. We tried other items on her menu, but these are our favorites.“

“Listen. Let's be honest. Fast food Chinese isn't meant to be the highest quality cuisine. It's meant for affordable and convenient meals in between typical American fast food cravings (pizza, burgers, etc).

Unfortunately, MANY, and I mean MANY Chinese food spots take too much liberty with this and compromise TOO MUCH on quality and flavor; to the point where the food is not even that good.

This is NOT that place. They actually try to make the food good....and not just settle for the lazy taste pallet of low expectation.

I finally found a Chinese spot where the rice isn't oily. The generals tso isn't just bread...and my wife said the wanton soup was amazing, both the broth and the dumplin.

The beef and broccoli was okay, but overall, soooo glad I tried this spot out. It's my new go to spot. Thank you for making great food!“

“Craving Chinese Food last night and new to the neighborhood...Where do I eat ? So I go on ahead and try China Wok. I was blown away ...the food was very tasty. I had the Shrimp Lo Mein , Pork Egg Foo Young, Garlic Wings and egg roll and spring roll. ? My family enjoyed it as well. Delivery came faster than I was told. “We called for delivery and waited an hour and the driver still hadn’t showed. We called them and they said they were very busy and we would have to come pick it up. At first I was angry but then I got there and saw how busy they were. The lady was very nice and gave me 2 dollars back and a free 2 liter of Pepsi and was very apologetic. Food is great but sometimes you just need to be patient when they’re slammed. It’s a small restaurant.“

“Ordered takeout for dinner. The General Tso’s tofu was amazing, the crab rangoon were generously stuffed and they, along with the egg rolls, were fried perfectly. No greasy mess. The only disappointing part is that we didn’t get fortune cookies! Almost deducted a star for that one, but everything is very reasonably priced so I let it slide ;)

“I got the barbecue ribs and the flavor is great, I'm not a big fan of peas in my fried rice but their fried rice is okay. The soup looks really good, and they gave me the crispy wonton noodles. They also let me swap my egg roll for a spring roll which I prefer so that was really nice. The people that work in that shop are super nice and very helpful. I found out that they do actually deliver within a 5 mi radius. I think it'll be easier for me to order delivery next time parking was a bit of a pain.“

We are sticklers for our Chinese food and have had some bad meals at many other places until we found China Chef and very rarely go elsewhere (only go to other places when looking for sushi or thai which China Chef doesn’t have either). “I had no idea this gem was only a few blocks away. They have delicious food, friendly and clean, will take orders in advance (helpful on holidays). They have Sushi and regular Asian food. Their steamed dumplings are our favorite. They even have Bubble (BoBa) tea! It's not a eat in restaurant but there is space inside to wait. Extremely kind and always have had my order correct & hot. Please check them out, they're really good.“

“My wife and I order from China Express at least once a week. My wife has conversations with the young lady who seems to always be there answering the phone and ringing you up at the register. She is very friendly and the food is great! I'm working late today and actually picking some up tonight. It is just my wife and I, as the kids are out of the house now, and we always order more food than we could eat, but it is so good the next day.

Parking: They do have tables and chairs to dine in but most people like us prefer to take-out as we live right down the road about 10 minutes from there. With people picking up their orders, there is always parking and never a wait for your order.“

“I don’t understand the complaints. I always got really great food here. The general tso’s tofu was always great. The wonton soup was as well. In this area specifically, this is one of the best around. I don’t know if the same person is working the cash register, but a little boy always rung me up and he was perfectly kind. While also doing his homework on the job. The whole family was always very sweet to me.

“My family and I have been ordering from Hunan Star for over 8 years and not one time have we been disappointed! Their food is always served hot and yummy! Hands down the best Chinese/Asian food in town! If you ever get tired of just doing take-out, I’d recommend actually dining in! The service is amazing and we never leave hungry. I love how they package the sauce separate from the meat with the sweet and sour! Totally makes it better! Soups are great I enjoy they crab Rangoon. Homemade MUSTARD IS A MUST!!! Egg rolls were not greasy, you can taste the shrimp in the shrimp toast, the boneless spare ribs were succulent and plentiful and the garlic chicken, although it needed a lot more garlic, was tasty. The chicken and the broccoli in the Garlic Chicken were cooked perfectly. We will be regular customers from now on!“
