“The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. Excellent loaded sweet potato. I went to move the check to the end of the table, pushed my glass by accident and it smashed all over. The one worker was so nice about it but i feel awful!! She made sure i didnt get cut/hurt and was very forgiving. Sorry Longhorn. You have 10/10 stars for everything in there! “This was my first time eating in at Jack and George's. However, I've had to go multiple times. The quality and portion sizes are phenomenal every time. My favorite thing on the menu is their mac and cheese, but you can only get that on Friday, so make sure to stop in then.

Tonight, they were down a server and had two waitresses serving the entire place while it was packed. They did so with ease and had our food out quickly while checking in to make sure everything was OK. The amount of food was crazy. I got a spicy Hawaiian chicken sandwich, which I didn't know came it chips and an order of fries. Most of it came home with me because it I was so full. I did get a cake to go as they are decadent and worth every calorie.

The only thing I gave a 4 star was the atmosphere. The tables are close together, and it was extremely loud tonight to where I had to almost yell to talk to the people at my table. However, the bathrooms were clean and taken care of, which is always a plus.

There is plenty of parking in any of the 3 lots right beside the restaurant. They do ask that you dont park in front of one of the neighboring houses since they do have lot parking available.

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Don't get me wrong, the food is amazing, but I ordered over the phone & I asked for a pizza steak sub & other things. I Asked for the dressing on the side because we were bringing it home. Dressing wasn't even in the bag with the entire order & there were 2 subs. We repeated, dressing on the side numerous times. The dressing is fabulous & a compliment to the sub with flavor. I sent my Grandson to pick up. This happens a lot. I've got the entire wrong order before too. Whoever answers the phone & takes the order needs to get it right. I shouldn't have to check each thing when I pick it up. Very frustrating to find when your already home.“

“We were there for Brunch 10/16/22. They just reopened under new ownership/management. Mayfield is a fantastic match for this establishment. Can’t wait to see what happens with the Capital Hotel upstairs. The bartenders were awesome. The Food was Great. I highly recommend you stop in and see what they have done with the place. What they did to the Piperoom is fantastic! All I can say is Congratulations Maddie and your team, you really gave it a face lift and added your touch to the place. All Fantastic!! BRAVO!!“

…….Thats what I call the excellent deal they have on 2 dozen wings at Nardo’s Cafe!

So I was in the area at a close by stationary and copy service center when Nardo’s was recommended. So I walked on over. And as I approached the door I saw a sign that said, “Try our lemon pepper wings”.

Right then and there I knew that there was something special about the cooks taste and abilities! And, in hindsight, one would think that lemon pepper wings would be a common offering. But, despite being familiar with traditional lemon pepper chicken, this was actually the first time I ever saw it offered as American Cafe style wings.

So I waked in and placed a lunch order. Though not for the wings that day. And I did strike up a conversation with the chef about the wings.

Instantly it became clear that this cook was passionate about, knowledgeable and skilled at his craft. And, during the course of the discussion, he mentioned a 2 dozen wings for $27 deal.

So I promised to return in the future to place an order. And it was only a few days till I returned to buy the wings.

I decided on the 2 dozen for $27 deal. And this price is on par and somewhat better than most establishments. Especially considering today’s economy. And an economy which, despite the valiant efforts of late, still may take a little more time to recover once the dust settles from the much needed regime change.

Anyhow, I arrived on time so as to get my wings as hot as possible. And one must consider that, if you are not dining in, you really should be punctual about arriving at the exact time scheduled to pick up your food.

And, to those that are thoroughly ignorant of food sciences, know this: Gravity and condensation are factors that affect hot foods placed in modern take out containers.

This means that, if you take your good old time to pick up an order, sauces can travel to the bottom of the foil and pool. And, in addition, water condensation can also accumulate on the upper surface of modern styrofoam take out containers. Thus, after sufficient time, one could conceivably knock loose that condensation to unwittingly dilute sauces that, again, gravitated toward the foil.

….. thats my personal opinion anyway.

But, as I spoke to the cook for the second time, I perceived that he understood well the genre of the American Cafe, the ins & outs of the business and that, at times, you simply cannot please all of the people all of the time.

But, as for me, I was very pleased with the wings. I got the lemon pepper wings and their hottest offering…..the “Pray for rain”.

Both of these are excellent in flavor and texture. But don’t take my word for it. Go to Nardo’s Cafe and, no pun intended, Judge for Yourself!“

“Had our Anniversary dinner here and was very satisfied with EVERYTHING! The service was phenomenal and Baylee made sure we were well taken care of. mozzarella Fritta was delicious and my Tortellini Alfredo was the best I've ever had. My wife had Gnocchi Risotto and it was delicious as well. Oh, and the Italian rolls dripping with Garlic Butter and Parmesan were fantastic. “We came in on 5/2/25. Our waitress Cassie was superb! She knew the menu and was knowledgeable on the craft draft beers. She was very attentive also. I included pictures of our food. The sampler was a build your own. We had wings, southwestern egg rolls, and quesadilla. We also ordered the PGH style cheese steak. Everything was delicious! The sampler could have been a bit warmer in temp. Thats why I didn't give 5 stars. 4.5 more like it. Lol, We will be back.“
