“Stopped in for lunch while visiting from out of town. From the outside, Knickerbocker has that neighborhood corner bar feel that seems to beckon you in for a cool one. Once inside the bar, though, the atmosphere is very 1920s probation era swank, bold burgundy painted walls, black and white photos of public figures, a very well stocked bar and a menu full of curiosities. I love places like this. The bartender was quite friendly and attentive, making small talk with the local lunch crowd. I kept things simple and grabbed a super smash burger and Lager. The burger was juicy and delicious, think if someone hand crafted a Big Mac but with only the finest ingredients. The chips which appeared to be house made were great
as well. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience sitting in the courtyard, not quite the time of year for that anymore. To sum it up, Knickerbocker Tavern is an awesome joint, if I lived in Altoona this would definitely be one of my regular spots. I'll be sure to tell anyone heading that way to stop in“

“Love the new happy hour times! Great food great service. My favorite is their Cinco De Mayo. The prices have gone up since their newest restaurant but the portion sizes are worth it. I do think they could give you 4 tortillas with a dinner since they are small instead of 3.“

“My family and I have been going to Texas Roadhouse for many years now. In all of those years, there have only been two occurrences that come to mind where there was really any issue with anything. On both occurrences about two years apart, my steak was not cooked correctly. The first visit I am referencing took four times to correct, but was corrected without attitude from the waitress nor the manager and we were not charged for the steak in the end. The second visit I am referencing took three times to correct without attitude from the waitress, but attitude from the cook and a bit of skepticism from one manager, but the steak was corrected. Overall, the wait staff is kind and fairly prompt, same as management typically. The food is practically always good and with filling portion sizes. Sometimes when it is busy, floor cleanliness leaves a bit to be desired, but the tables and seats are typically clean. Also, most of the staff is knowledgeable enough of basic food allergies to comply with requests and/or will ask people who know better and are willing to check ingredients upon request. I have dairy and gluten intolerances and have not had an issue to date.“

“Food I had the lunch box Italian it was as my daughter would say slamming and they had ice tea in a half gallon container we enjoyed it I recommend you to try it out.

Parking: It’s not that big of a lot but you can park comfortably

“The sandwiches, atmosphere and service are top notch, but they seriously need to work on their side dishes, the fries I got on the side were just awful. They got cold and soggy way too fast, I didn't even want to finish or box up those fries. If I am to come back, I'll be skipping the side dishes and focus on the sandwiches alone.

“Service was ok. They only had one person working the counter and kitchen but he took care of us really well. The Italian subs and stromboli were dynamite. Simply prepared but the flavors were great.

Kid-friendliness: Brought the family in for a nice Sunday afternoon lunch. Place was nice and very clean.“

“Brad deserves a raise! He was such a great server, drinks always full, plates always cleared, food was great but Brad really made it an enjoyable experience. He was so sweet to my elderly grandma always making sure she had what she needed and even boxed up her food for her which was absolutely above and beyond. Request to be sat with Brad on your next visit because he will make sure you’re taken care of!“

“We sat out on their very nice patio. It was a group of us (4). We had their trio which included: their rib fingers (basically single ribs), potato skins, and the fried cheese cubes. The ribs were great (their sauce is very good). Had the chicken parm for dinner, it was very good too. I would recommend it. Will likely be back.“
