“Awesome food. We had a dirty plate that I noticed only because it was wet and I used the black cloth napkin to wipe it dry. My napkin had white residue on it. I asked for a new plate and did get one. Also, most of the time we have to ask for fortune cookies. They used to be given with our check. We do love eating here, and drive 50 minutes from our home to get here. We saw the wonderful manager and Chef from our last visit.“

“After getting food poisoning from Great Wall, I found Rice House. They have the absolute most incredible and fresh food. I highly recommend getting their coconut chicken, honey chicken, sweet-and-sour chicken, egg rolls, their duck sauce is the best. Their portions are very generous and they have lunch specials up until 3 PM every day. My daughter and I absolutely love this restaurant and the owners are so sweet. “I was looking for roast crispy duck. I didn't want to go to Chinatown because its gotten rundown, yucky traffic, expensive parking and horrible SEPTA. I decided to stay in my neighborhood so I could walk. I worried about it being expensive. Chestnut Hill is high end and the restaurant looked pricey. What a WONDERFUL SURPRISE! I was a solo table but still treated like a queen with lots of servers checking in, giving water and smiling. The roast duck in black bean sauce on the cast iron plate was SCRUMPTIOUS. It comes with a healthy side of white rice and delicate, flavorful bok choi. The skin was crispy yet NOT oily or greasy. The CHUNKS of tender duck meat were excellent. The sauce was thick, savory and yummy. FOODGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The portion was so healthy that I was able to take a container home for lunch the next day. Then I ordered the Mudslide ice cream pie for dessert. PERFECTION. Dense, creamy, sweet but not cloying with nut accents, fresh strawberries and cream as garnish. Cool treat on a humid Summer night. When the bill came, I was shocked that it was less than $40. I did not order a cocktail because I wanted to concentrate on the food. I gave them a big tip and said I am absolutely returning. I am also addicted to their spring rolls too. Two perfect crunchy flaky rolls filled with a balanced combination of shrimp, cheese, and cabbage that you can dip in duck sauce or mustard or just enjoy plain.“

“I have lived in 4 towns and tried many Chinese takeout. This place is literally the best Chinese food I've ever had. I drive 30 miles for their sesame chicken with wonton soup. Great deal and the wonton are the size of your fist and you get two. They also delivered to me in 12in of snow in 2014. I felt terrible for asking but they saved me when I had no food for days. You will not regret it.“

“Little Basil has become our go to place for carry out Chinese food near Broomall! Love the food and the woman who always hands me the order is wonderful. They also accommodate our request for minimal/low/no salt, which is important for our health restrictions.

Never disappointed by quality, speed, or price. Genuinely love her establishment!“

“Nice little spot for chinese food. Take out only which isn't an issue as I usually order ahead of time just before I get off work so I can pick it up without a wait. There's a parking lot too so you won't have to worry about stopping for too long in the street if for some reason you get there before your food is ready.“

“My Mom and I went for lunch, and we were impressed at the lunch specials. They included a soup, drink, and lunch portion of your favorite combos. I believe we added an on an egg roll. Perfect amount of food and very tasty. I enjoyed the beef with broccoli special with fried rice. The shop is now available for dine-in again, but they do a ton of takeout, and the pricing was very reasonable.

“We have been getting take out from here for about 10years. The food is always hot and delicious, and only on very rare occasions were we disappointed at one dish or another. You can’t expect perfection every time. My mother always loves the General Tso’s chicken and they make it nice and mild for her. With Alzheimer’s, many times it’s difficult to get her to eat, but she will always eat heartily when we get Formosa’s.“

I'm pretty picky about Sweet & Sour Chicken, and it's been difficult to find a local spot that compared to our favorite place about 30 minutes away.

The portions here were generous, the prices reasonable and the food is delicious. I am a sucker for chicken and broccoli, but I find a lot of places skimp on quality and don't balance the chicken to broccoli... it's usually too much of one or the other. They balance everything well, which was nice to discover.

Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. My other half got the Crab Rangoon and said it was excellent, but maybe too much for just one person.

We definitely plan to order from here again!!“

“The general tso's sauce IS the best! I get the general tso's tofu (don't knock it till ya try it) and it's great every single time. Their tofu(or whatever)+ broccoli (brown sauce) is really good as well. I don't usually get the fried rice but I recall it being decent. Not a sit in restaurant and it isn't the most welcoming store front as another person as mentioned, but the food is fast and delicious and I have never had a single issue.

I did try a piece of the basket itself out of curiosity but the basket itself has no flavor which i expected. It’s probably mainly for show. lol but the kid in me had to try it.
