“Same family as valerios and the interior is almost identical. Small, casual Italian restaurant; no frills and decent pricing. Stuffed rigatoni and chicken Alfredo were good, IMO better than valerios. Seemed more flavorful and they had more homemade options such as Italian wedding soup and lasagna. The food could have been hotter/cooked longer- it actually came out really quick and was Luke warm and quickly cooled to cold. Specifically the red sauce wasn’t as hot as it should’ve been. Pls take your time especially when not busy. But at least they gave a nice portion of sauce. Most never give enough. Secondly, the side salad was very small and on a weird oblong dish with only cheese and tomato. Aside from those two things the service was excellent, with Ms. Heidi being very polite and attentive and also reminding us to BYOB next time! Dishes were about 14 a piece so $30 for two with waters. I’d say it’s fairly priced with portions and a salad or soup and bread. Sauce was sweet which I enjoyed. But as a full blooded Italian it could always use more garlic and Italian seasoning lol that goes for 99% of Italian places though. Thx for the good service. Also please get lemons as she said they didn’t have them- like, ever.“

“On a Friday evening at approximately 7 PM, my wife and I went to Colao’s Restaurant with our 3 month old daughter. Our baby did not make a peep the entire time we went in to get a table. The hostess, who was exceptionally unsympathetic and rude, said she didn’t believe they could make any accommodation for our very compact stroller. She checked to see if she could stuff us in the back corner and when she was unable to she told us she had no room for us that evening. She didn’t even offer a possible wait time! As a side note there were several open tables available at the time we were standing there and they were allegedly reserved. I have a very difficult time believing they were unable to find a spot for two people and a very compact stroller the remainder of the entire evening. Apparently the “Italian” family restaurant I remembered was no longer very family oriented if there was potential to disturb the ambiance for their elegant clientele. Anyways, we called Ricardo’s and they accepted us with open arms! The atmosphere was much more welcoming and family oriented as we prefer and the staff was extremely pleasant and kind. The portions were larger and in my opinion much better for a more modest price. So if you feel like dining Italian in Erie, I would highly recommend Ricardo’s.“

“The food was excellent. Service was fast and pleasant. The only thing I can say is the breadsticks didn't taste how I remember, although they were freshy made and warm. The portions sizes are very plentiful, so you'll most likely have food to take home. The interior and bathrooms are clean and on theme.“

“My husband brought me here at around 3pm at first I thought the place was closed down.

He ordered us some pepperoni balls and cheese sticks with marinara sauce. BOY WAS I SHOCKED. I immediately went to flavor town. The pepperoni ball had a great sweet and salty combination. The cheese sticks were average, but the marinara sauce was the best I’ve had in Erie !!

“I always feel like Valerio is a pretty fair value for the quality and price point. I feel like you get pretty good portions of pasta. You get bread with it and they always have a really good side salad with plenty of dressing options. The servers have always been polite And overall just enjoyable night out. As a full-blooded Italian, I feel like their sauce and food in general is a little bit bland and could always use more garlic or herbs and spices but of course that’s just me a genuine 100% Italian most people like some of my other family memberswho are not blood probably wouldn’t want it to be too spicy or to have too much seasoning, so I understand why they have to make it that way“
