“Good service, comfortable atmosphere and delicious fish sandwich with sweet potato tots. As a side note, upon leaving, we noticed the sign on the door offering Veterans a free meal on Veteran's Day. Along with good food, service, etc., the establishment is a blessing to the community!“

“Not the same as it was, but the new owner is passionate and the staff is top notch. I miss some of the charm of the old vibe, but the Pub is in the hands of someone who appears to care about the place, while following her own vision. Still one of the best spots to grab a Guinness, eat a little (good) pub food and share a good conversation.“

“Without a doubt, the best food and service you can ask for. You will not leave hungry or disappointed. It's been 20 years between visits, because I moved outta state. I couldn't wait to go back the first chance I could. Dave and Cathy are among the nicest people you'll ever meet. The fish sandwiches are huge and made to perfection.
Thanks again for the wonderful lunch experience. My family and I really enjoyed it. I wish you 2 nothing but the best!“

“Fabulous dinner, unique menu, we had Fried Green Tomato Sandwich, Guinness Roast Beef, Fish and Chips, and Salmon, then shared the Bread pudding, all was excellent!“

“I I love this place.. All of the bar maid's are so nice. I have a few favorite's like Michelle, Jody, and Elise. Maxwells is a clean quiet peaceful little spot that go can go to and have a drink or two and don't have to worry about looking over your shoulder or watching your back while you do so..“

“My husband and I stopped in for the first time for breakfast. I had pancakes and he had an omelet. Both were very good and you got a lot of food for the price, which was very reasonable. Our server was very nice and attentive. We will most definitely go back and look forward to trying lunch or dinner!“

“Dive bar vibe - Dark & Vintage. They're hot cheese balls were pretty good. They were not the best cheese curds that I have ever had, but they were decent. If you like your cheese curds extra cheesy, these are for you. We also got 2 burgers were which were extremely large, & cooked well done which wasn't very good. The fries were subpar and the chips were just plain generic ruffle chips -not made in house or anything. I would have loved another option to not have a side. This place was not super expensive which was cool but probably wouldn't come here again.“

“I ate before arriving, so I didn’t have any of the food. But the kitchen was pumping out orders the entire time I was there. Drinks were generous with alcohol. Bartender was nice. Atmosphere was light, like I came with one friend felt like I knew everyone else I encountered. Good music choices were made on the jukebox. I enjoyed myself.“

“I go the visit this boom ? bar and grill EVERYTIME I am in Pittsburgh.Great food, drinks are amazing, free pool, and darts. They have a music box to play your own music if you like.Saturday night live Dj.Bingo as well on some night. Smoking out doors.FAST SERVICE FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE.I feel like you’re always greeted with a smile. They have zero tolerance for ignorance will throw you out of your acting up. “Awesome!! I really wish I had taken pictures. I got a fried chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun and right now I can't remember the name....Sando something but it was awesome and my friend got a burger also on a pretzel bun and he was like...Omg, this is so freaking good, cooked as requested. The place was packed but that didn't matter because the atmosphere was great and worth the wait.“
“What a fun little spot to stop in for a drink before & after an event. We dropped by for the 1st time b4 the Pens game (& after if course). The owner Jimmy was so gracious, so friendly to talk with. The crowd wasn't too bad (we even started taking to a few other PENs fans, that was nice) , the food was really good. So if you're looking for a good place to hang out, grab a bite & a drink be sure to stop at Shale's. I know I'll definitely be back.“

“I've been coming here since I was 4 , thats 70 years ! Never dissappointed. In the 50's + peanut shells ankle deep very small bar area but the FISH was it. Now a place to enjoy with the whole family clean,friendly, great food, fast friendly service with smiles! Fair prices, and the BEST FISH around. Ez to find and you'll luv it.“

“I've only had good experiences and good food here. The hot wings are great as is the pizza, which are about the only things I've had here outside of the excellent and ever-evolving selection of draft beers. I've side-glanced at amazing-looking fish and shrimp baskets and must try some soon. The service is great. Rachelle is awesome!“
