“We popped in this afternoon for a bite. Great beers, food and the staff were terrific! Met Tim, the owner, who answered all kinds of questions and was enthusiastic and friendly! Definitely planning to return! And hoping to get a sixtel for the kegerator at home!“

“It is rare for a brewpub to have vegan food, and I echo what others here have said about the quality and options. Owners are vegan and seemingly intend this to be sort of a vegan place with meat options without making it obvious, lol. Most pizzas can be made vegan, and the mushroom one comes drizzled with a black garlic aioli made with vegan mayo (I asked). Their flagship West Coast IPA is to die for. And the roasted broccoli appetizer was divine. Definitely a place to return to many times. The building is a former horse stable attached to a market, and we mistakenly went into the market first, but the pub is actually between the hotel and the market. Plenty of outside seating, not so much inside, so make a reservation. We went for lunch when it was not as busy. Very friendly cool staff. “We have found our new favorite spot! Sat outside in CHBC’s fantastic beer garden on a beautiful Saturday early evening. The Biergarten was spacious and had a great vibe and very friendly servers. Don’t forget to bring your canine best friend to this dog friendly spot. While we didn't bring a dog of our own, we loved interacting with everyone else's four-legged friends.

The food, service, and drink selection are all impressive and on point. As someone who only consumes plant-based meals, I was thrilled to find so many amazing vegan options on the menu. The vegan cheesesteak, falafel burger, and chickpea tinga nachos are all delicious and highly recommended, but they also have equally delicious options for carnivores that looked really good. We cannot wait to come back and try the pizza next time.

For drinks, I ordered non-alcoholic beer, but as a beer enthusiast at a brewery, I couldn't help but notice the impressive body, clarity, and color of the house beers being served around us. They have a great variety of appealing styles that will easily please most palates. Highly recommend this place!“

“Source Urban Brewery, Philadelphia, PA. I hate how much I enjoyed my visit to Source Urban Brewery. Why I wasn’t looking forward to this visit is a story for another time. The young women working this evening were awesomeness. I order the pretzel. It came with beer cheese. I told the young woman how much I loved beer cheese. She said it came with mustard and beer cheese but she could give me 2 beer cheeses. I said, ‘two beer cheese please.’ I have 3 beers each was better than the last. They all had a ton of flavor. They all tasted exactly as they were described. I think they are trying to be a higher end brewery. But, they have a big bar and you never what kind of crowd the Fillmore is going to bring in. “There is never a wait here, and that’s insane because of how good it is. The atmosphere is great since it’s roadside in ambler. The food is cheap and you get soooo much. I got the chicken strips, and they genuinely took an entire chicken and cut it into pieces. Poor Albert, he was a good chicken. R.I.P. At least he tasted good 😋. And to end this review, I’m going to talk about the pretzel. This pretzel is the reason we go to Tannery Run. This is the reason for the five stars. This pretzel is my motivation for everything in life. Not exaggerated.“

Huge stout/porter fan, not so much of the blonde ones but, in this case, the Blonde Barrister (Blonde Stout) is really (really) good!

“We enjoyed a great evening with my folks and the SN’L jazz duo. I ordered the standard flight and the Rte 23 hand pie with salad. Everything—music and cider and food—was inventive. Normally in a cider flight I’ll only really love 1/4; but all of these were unique and drinkable. Had fun talking with the knowledgeable staff. Traditional cider was just the right amount of dry; the ginger the driest with subtle ginger notes. I chose the blood orange as my seasonal and it was my favorite! The hand pie was delicious with a savory beef and mushroom filling and flaky crust, and the salad was also great, not your usual side salad, with homemade dressing. Service was friendly and awesome. Check them out when you get the chance—wonderful spot with a neighborhood feel!“

“If you’re heading to Northern Liberties with kids in tow (and still want a beer), Craft Hall/Mainstay Independent is a solid choice for lunch.

Craft Hall is a massive industrial space that houses Mainstay Independent Brewing Company and feels more like a sports bar than a traditional brewery. Parking in the small front lot is tight but there’s also street parking and a couple of garages just a few blocks away if you’re willing to loop once or twice.

Inside, the vibe is unapologetically industrial: exposed steel, high ceilings, big open room. It’s not warm and cozy or where you go for a quiet pint.

Our visit was a bit chaotic. There’s a large indoor playground (pirate ship) packed with dozens of kids running, climbing, and burning off energy while parents reclaim a sliver of sanity. It’s extremely kid-friendly, and that clearly drives the lunch crowd.

Adults get their own zone at the bar, which helps balance things out. The tables are spacious, the projectors and TVs are plentiful, and the whole setup is perfect for watching a game, hosting a happy hour, or gathering a big group.

Beer-wise, we found the lineup solid but mostly average, with the standout being the Winter Bock. The traditional German-style lager was very malt-forward, roasty and smooth.

Craft Hall isn’t an intimate date-night brewery. It’s loud, lively, and built for volume. But if you’re looking for a kid-friendly brewery experience in Northern Liberties where adults can still grab a solid pint? This place absolutely fills that niche.“

“We love Carbon!! West Philly is so lucky to have them. Their beers are excellent (the Gully is my go-to), the staff is awesome, and the food is delish! The pizza of the week always keeps us on our toes in the best way. Highly recommend!“

“Great microbrewery located in a beautiful setting. The open air at the back side is quite a surprise walking into the place from Elm St. Food is also great and affordably priced. Only wish they kept their kitchen open past 7:45 pm. That is too early to close the kitchen and that too on a Saturday. Their best beer is "Backpack". Smooth and refreshing.“
