“My nephew loves I mean loves this place he gets the spare ribs extra sauce, with pork fried rice, and cheese fries with spare rib sauce on them. I get the shrimp and broccoli it is to die for. It taste the way Chinese is supposed to or how it did in the 90s. We live in Allentown. We drive all the way to Harrisburg for it. We ordered 5 orders, for the whole house and it only came to $53. I spend more than that ordering two pizzas and a soda. Hands down Emeralds can take my money“

“The food is always quick and good quality, the best Chinese take out in Harrisburg, the homemade ice tea and the pink lemonade is the truth trust me!!! And if you get fried rice tell them to add an egg to it! It’s a game changer!!!! And the price is very reasonable“

“I've watched these kids grow up and take over the business. One very beautiful Chinese woman working here many years disappear. Me find her at 3rd and Emerald Street. Chinese takeout. Now I eat from both places. For long time. Me her secret lover. I don't know if she knows. How much I love her.🌹🤗🌹“

“We absolutely love this place and have eaten here for nearly a decade. It's a one hour round trip for us, but we have tried a dozen other Chinese restaurants nearby our home, and none of them rank above 3 1/2 stars. Highly, highly recommend above all other Chinese restaurants, and the owner is sweet as pie; she is so kind and customer friendly. A+++“
“The food was delicious, I ordered over the phone and picked it up. It was hot and fresh.
I got vegetable rolls, crispy and tasty. A small wonton soup that was very good. The broth was very flavorful, and the wontons had plenty of delicious pork filling. Even the wonton strips that came with the soup were good. A lot of times, you get stale strips, but these had a great crisp and flavor.
Pork lo mein was tasty with plenty of vegetables and roast pork with great flavor. Chicken and broccoli had a great ginger smell, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly, neither too hard nor too soft.
All of the small portions were pretty big and definitely priced well.
Better than anything I've found in Pittsburgh, that's for sure!“

“I’ve driven by this place dozens of times the 13 years I’ve lived in Harrisburg and only just today 11/11/2025 stopped in on my way home from Midtown Scholar for the lunch specials. My boyfriend got the pork lo mein with egg drop soup and I got the general tso chicken with hot and sour and it was really good! I usually judge a place based on their general tso chicken because it’s usually really good or awful - hardly any in-between - this place was not only good but was so cheap. All their lunch specials with a choice of soup or soda are $7.95 which is unheard of nowadays. This place isn’t near my home like others but I’m definitely going out of my way for it from now on because it’s so cheap and so much better than the others in the area.“

“I ordered from the menu, so my main dish was cooked fresh, however, the rice noodles were taken from the pre-cooked bins at the counter. I got General Tso's tofu. The tofu tasted fresh, though marginally over cooked. The sauce was good, though a bit too sweet. The rice noodles were excellent and tasted just like singapore mei fun, with a bit of curry flavor and a few veggies in the mix. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality for being a food court "Chinese" restaurant.“

“I drove all the way to harrisburg to pick up something off of fb marketplace. The purchase was a disappointment, and finding this place made the drive worth it. I am now upset I don't live around here. There's fountain drinks, and I ain't mad. This is a gloriously efficient business.“
“My wife and I have frequently gotten take out here. Its always delicious, so when the plan was to drop the kids at an event, we were going to pick up take out and do some holiday prepping, I called and placed our usual order. Then life happened, and our plans had to shift. We made different dinner plans and would pick up our chineese take out for leftovers later; I called to meet the restaurant know and got the first unanticipated customer gold star, they were fine with waiting. Gold star came when we arrived to pick up the food, the owner said he would make it fresh for us.... I feel horrible that I couldn't wait for the food... but im very appreciative that they wanted to make fresh food for us. I couldn't stay to wait for it, but this interaction surely guaranteed that this will remain our go to take out spot! You should make it yours too!!!“

“I ordered the General Tso Chicken combo and a small wonton soup through Grubhub last night. I am not a fan of fried rice, but I was absolutely blown away by the fried rice that came with the chicken, I would eat the rice by itself as a meal! The wonton soup was by far the best I have ever had. The chicken was very good. I will definitely order from here again whenever I'm in the area.“

“Five stars. Sublime mix of tranquil love songs. Perfectly quiet atmosphere, so you can hear the music and the people with you. Food and tea were good and reasonably priced. Love the adorable gooseneck spout teapot with mesh insert. The staff were helpful, and did not hurry us out the door. (chef's kiss)“

“Some things are a hit or miss but not that bad. I’ve been coming here since forever. Same menu same lady at the window. Don’t get the chicken noodle soup tho. That’s just a no. The chicken nuggets are tiny, wouldn’t recommend. If you get a combination dish with rice and let’s say beef and broccoli just know all the sauce from the beef and broccoli is gonna be soaking into your rice. Because they put the (COMBINATION) in one container. Meaning your rice might be soggy and I DONT like that. Not a fan of the hot n sour soup. It wasn’t the right amount of sour to sweet ratio I like. The people there are nice just be patient please. English is their second language. Even I, an Asian American struggle placing an order on the phone.“

“This authentic Chinese Restaurant is a fantastic addition to the otherwise dull fare of "quick joints" in Harrisburg . Unique menu with something for everyone. Dishes, in ample portions, are served "family style" at the center of the table on a glass "Lazy Susan". No need to pick up and pass, just turn. and add to your plate. Front of house Service is very attentive and always at the ready. Very friendly and will explain the cuisine. We were a party of 7 and each one of us enjoyed our meal and experience. this place is a gem. Poultry, Fish, Pork, and vegan options are available. Exotic fare is also on the menu. This place is great and I hope they are here to stay! Families and kids are welcomed. BYOB.“
