“The food here is very good and portioned perfect. Unfortunately, my stomach does not agree with the food but I keep returning. I do feel like my family are being judged by the patrons and at times staff while eating. That is a bit upsetting because we want to enjoy our selves and not be judged by strangers.“

“will always be one of my go-to sushi/ramen places in university city! the price is good and their lunch special makes it even better. I always try different types of sushi and it's very suitable for large parties (ive gone as a group of 8 before). the only problem with that is that you can only split the check 3 ways. atmosphere and vibe are really nice and casual, and the staff are always nice!“

“My boyfriend and I love coming to Rakuichi for an honest, hearty, and low-key dinner. The chashu ramen and spicy miso ramen both have a delicious, rich broth; a nice ratio of toppings; and are both a plentiful portion. I recently added tempura shrimp to mine and it was super crunchy with lots of flavor!
We are always impressed by the takoyaki which you can tell is made from scratch, with nice chunks of octopus and a glorious mountain of bonito flakes! Even the chili crisp oil on the tables is tasty with a pleasant heat. I like that you can customize the sweetness level of the milk teas, too.
The staff is welcoming and kind, and the food is sent out quickly! The dining room has a cozy, casual feel with lots of cute cat motifs in the decor. It’s an interesting kind of industrial space that has an urban feel, but is still warm and atmospheric. We love seeing how orderly their small open kitchen is - it’s fun to see the chefs in action.
Rakuichi is the perfect spot for a weeknight date if you want a neighborhood joint kind of vibe and a filling meal. We drive 30 minutes each way to come here and are glad to do it!“

“I am grateful to have a non-chain ramen spot nearby. Best experienced in person over takeout always. I hope for the best for the local owners. Would be amazing if they considered added salmon donburi or fresh yakitori to their menu. It would turn this place into a happy hour spot in no time.“

“This is a really great cheap-ish spot for a meal. We got two bowls of ramen, four spicy chicken wings, and two orders of mochi for less than $40. Food came out quickly and was delicious. The round chashu was slightly superior to the chashu pork shoulder. Highly recommend ending the meal with a little serving of mochi. It was the perfect treat after the warmth and strong flavors of dinner. We went around 8PM. It was busy but not packed. YOU SHOULD GO HERE!“

“Come to Ninja Bao!
I was waiting for a train and needed something to settle my stomach, I had the Tonkatsu ramen to my surprise was reasonably priced for 14$ had a soda and the staff/owners just kept giving me free complimentary food!
They gave me a cheesesteak Bao Bun and Scallion pancake!
This little gem reminds me of a small ramen shop salarymen would frequent after a hard day of work in Japan before the last train back home.
It’s a must visit and a staple shop in the suburban station and deserves praise!“

“Amazing restaurant with great sushi and some of the BEST RAMEN not just in the area, but in South East PA. I crave it at least 2-3 times a week and the sushi options are amazing and the fish is always top notch, fresh and cut perfectly. I love this place.“

“Holy moly what a find. Stopped in after a long day working on our new house where we did not have it in us to cook. Tried 2 different bento boxes and were blown away by:
-portion size (so much enclosed the box had to be rubber banded shut, we ate on the leftovers for several meals)
-price (each of our selections was less than $20)
-quality (new favorite spring roll in the area, crispy coating of batter on the bento and shrimp, fresh fluffy rice, fabulous miso soup, I could go on)
-customer service (they wrote a sweet note thanking us for our business! It was placed into one of the bags we were given along with a takeout menu)
-speed (for the volume of food we were given, the wait was very reasonable. We walked in and ordered, and I think it took maybe 20 mins for us to be handed our food)“

“I was having a sushi craving… and thought we would give Sushi Ocean a try. And it was so good!! We did take out, but went in to pick it up, it looked quaint and clean. Our food wasn’t quite ready, so the gal asked if we were waiting in our car and she would bring out to the car. Definitely a win for me as well as my kids. Will be going back again. The fish was fresh, and they were reasonably priced. Got a lot for our money!!“

“My son and I just moved to the area about a month ago, and we stumbled upon FUKI — it’s quickly become our new favorite spot! My son loves ramen, and they always make it plain just the way he likes it. I usually get the salmon teriyaki, which is served beautifully seared with teriyaki sauce over onions and peppers, alongside rice — absolutely delicious. We’ve also tried the crab fried rice, and everything has been fresh, hot, and flavorful every time.
The service is quick, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant is extremely clean. We always enjoy our visits and truly wish them the best of luck. Highly recommend!“

“I got the 3 rolls special for $15.95. If you go in before 3pm, they also give you a free miso soup. My favorite was the fried calamari! So good. It’s really substantial and cheap. Worth it! Awesome service, delicious food, would love to come back next time!“

“Just moved to the area, this was our first time here. The sushi was good and crab rangoons were so crispy! It’s been a while since I’ve had good crab rangoons anywhere in Philly. All the dishes we saw served, along with our own, were colorful and creatively decorated. Our service was fast and all the staff were attentive and kind. Would definitely recommend for dining in or take out!“

“FRESH sushi poke bowls and ramen dishes on a limited menu are fabulous. The quality of the sushi is exceptional, as are the portions. The service is wonderful and accommodating. Located in Whole Foods on the perimeter between the exterior walls and check-out registers, this is a wonderful option and addition to an already top notch source of quality food!

“Aside from great accommodations tea and fare these folks are honest to a fault. I have had two occasions where I left something behind first my wallet with around 1500 cash left there for 4 hours. They kept it for me. On the second my cell phone in the restroom. In a world where everyone is trying to get over these folks have stuck to morals and honor. I appreciate you and will always be a patron.“

“Fantastic! We were staying right across the street and were looking for a ramen place to check out and decided to stay close by. The ramen was delicious, super flavorful, with a great depth of flavor. We also had the crab sushi which was also incredible, the addition of caviar on top added a nice sweetness to the sushi and the crunch of the soft shell crab added a great texture. Highly recommend trying Yamitsuki while visiting Philly!“

“It was my first time eating at Osaka Hibachi and I was very pleased with both the meal and service.
I ordered the chicken and salmon hibachi and both meats were tender.
The vegetables were cooked perfectly.
The rice was also cooked well.
My only con was the teriyaki/ hibachi sauce was a tad bit salty. Other than that- great experience and you get a lot of food!“
