“The food my family has had here is about as authentic as we’ve ever found for Chinese American restaurants (minus being in Chinatown in one of the major cities). Pork fried rice tastes as it did when I visited Hong Kong. Can’t beat the lunch special price and amount you get for it. The owner is very attentive and friendly. Never had a bad experience while there. We usually dine in rather than take out. It is basic inside, which is the only reason I gave atmosphere one less star, but what matters to me most is food, and that has always been A+. There is a small lot behind the restaurant for free parking, and also a local lot right down the street.“

The food was delicious (not heavy or super salty), the portions were big, and we even got some donuts as a surprise. Will definitely be back to make this my family’s go-to Chinese takeout place.“

“Moved to the area 5 years ago. Have struggled to find a half decent Chinese restaurant anywhere nearby. After dozens of really terrible local options we just gave up. In a desperate need to feed the family without time to go grocery shopping, I finally tried Golden Key. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and food is as decent as I make from scratch at home.

Most notably, they seem to make an effort to wash their vegetables really well. I can rarely eat restaurant vegetables 'cause they're so poorly cleaned & still covered in industrial ag chemicals (I work in the industry, as such I'm sensitized to the chemicals. Any residual in the produce I consume makes me sick)“

“We went here for dinner today. When we entered, we noticed the place looked like an authentic Chinese restaurant, with paintings of China on the wall. We got the vegetable fried rice, vegetable lo mein, steamed vegetable dumplings, and the spicy tofu. The fried rice and lo mein were very good. The dumplings were lacking flavor, but were steamed to perfection. The spicy tofu was the best part, coming with onions, tomatoes, and chillis. I really recommend this place if your in the area.“

“My Mom and I went for lunch, and we were impressed at the lunch specials. They included a soup, drink, and lunch portion of your favorite combos. I believe we added an on an egg roll. Perfect amount of food and very tasty. I enjoyed the beef with broccoli special with fried rice. The shop is now available for dine-in again, but they do a ton of takeout, and the pricing was very reasonable.

I would recommend checking them out! I will be coming back because I want to try their sushi menu. There were sushi lunch specials as well.“

“Very good local Chinese food. Consistently good food and quick service. This place does take out only. The kitchen is open so its easy to see they keep everything very clean. The owners and staff are friendly and they give us a calendar every year around xmas. Definitely my go too Chinese spot, and by far the best in the area.“

“The general tso's sauce IS the best! I get the general tso's tofu (don't knock it till ya try it) and it's great every single time. Their tofu(or whatever)+ broccoli (brown sauce) is really good as well. I don't usually get the fried rice but I recall it being decent. Not a sit in restaurant and it isn't the most welcoming store front as another person as mentioned, but the food is fast and delicious and I have never had a single issue.

“Soooo good and always consistently fresh. Has been my go to for years and never disappoints. Quick delivery, great for pickup and they have excellent lunch specials and large portions for full dinners. They also read the notes / modifications on orders which many places miss. Chicken with garlic sauce is killer, Hunan Chicken, Gen Tso and Beef Broccoli all very good. Always arrives hot and really nice delivery folks. Highly recommend. “We went to the Jade palace on New year's day to try their Japanese food. My wife and I each order a Bento. Box, which is more food than you could expect. It includes soup, dumplings, rice, entree, such as tempora shrimp or teriyaki. Shrimp, sushi and a shrimp spring roll. the food was delicious, served quickly, and we enjoyed every bite. If you like a variety of Japanese food and don't know what to order. This would be a perfect choice. We are definitely going back to this restaurant to try other items on the menu.“

“Service was prompt and very friendly. This establishment is mostly takeout. There are couple of tables if you choose to sit but not much for ambiance. The food is excellent. We had ordered Singapore Mai fun, fried rice, mix vegetables in white sauce. I love the fact that they do not overload the food with sugar. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I never ever have to ask for additional sauce. This is my go to for Chinese food. BTW, they have a website. You can look up their full menu there also.“

I've learned to not take it too personally when owners/employees at Chinese takeout places are short with you, as it's more of a they're busy/cultural thing than them actually being rude/mean. I will say that while they have changed over to smaller containers (as ALL takeout places seem to have done), they do still pile in the food. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt for being a hardworking mom and pop shop, and give them 4 stars.

*One thing of note - I feel that they are consistently bad at providing an accurate pick up/delivery time, so I would add at least 10 minutes to whatever time they give you. Also, not a fan of places that use pick up numbers (as opposed to names or telephone numbers).“

“Not a usual review writer, but saw the 3.9 and thought it was criminal for how high quality the food is here. Yes, I'm sure there are lapses in customer service. The business is run by an elderly couple who clearly enjoy their work even though they might not be a good as they were 30 years ago. But they're kind and take pride in the business. This is the closest you'll get to the quality of NYC chinese food in the area, though Lucky Star in Roxborough is a go to favorite as well.“

“I have eaten the food and it's very good. The husband is very nice. I usually walk in. I ordered for delivery this time. One thing I'm my order was vegetable Chow Mein. (Chinese vegetables) She asked if I wanted the noodles. I said "NO, noodles are Lo Mein, I want Chow Mein. Low and behold when I opened my bag I had Lo Mein. The day before I walked in for fried rice. I initially said no to soy sauce but changed my mind 2 seconds later. Got home. No soy sauce. I understand that it gets busy but what I value most in customer service is the art of listening. I WILL continue to eat there but I quess I'll have to reiterate my request to make sure I'm getting what I want. Nobody's perfect.“
