“Love this place! The space is amazing with huge outdoor/indoor seating and nice big circular bar. They have a great variety of styles - all were great. You can try a bunch of 10oz pours or stick with 16oz. Their merch is really nice too! I can see myself coming here again and again; definitely one of the more notable Pittsburgh breweries.“

“This brewery is very dog and kid friendly with a very relaxed atmosphere . Lots of outdoor space and outdoor seating so you never struggle to find a seat. The staff has always been friendly and the drinks are very reasonably priced.“
“It is easy to miss but in the cultural eclectic North Side it is a great place to hang out. With complimentary pool tables and darts and a nice mix of eclectic beers and rustic simple tables it is the epitome of laid-back cool! Whether you're here with family or friends and want to kick back for a couple of hours, I can't imagine you'd find a better place in Pittsburgh to do it. And though we didn't indulge ,from what I saw the food looked like it would be very good also!“
“We hosted a rehearsal dinner reception here in August and it was an amazing experience! We were able to rent the whole venue and bring food and decorations. Our guests enjoyed the great Back Alley Brewery beer and cider in this comfortable atmosphere. Many thanks to the staff, who were so accommodating and helpful in making this a night to remember.“

“Cool little brewery with a nice atmosphere. Lots of eye candy on the walls to read. There is also a nice game wall with some old retro games, which was super fun. Nice beer selection and different styles available. They advertise local restaurants you can order from, and they had some small snacks behind the bar.“
“We hosted an adult's birthday party here and it couldn't have been better. I worked with Dominic on the party details and he was super accommodating and flexible. Very great experience! The taproom is super cool and a fun space. Our children were entertained by the games and outdoor space which made the day even better.
I think the prices are very reasonable too.
All in all I highly highly recommend Costar for events or just hanging out and having a beer.“

“I frequent this restaurant often. I came in last week and requested a few items substituted on my salad due to dietary restrictions. Toi ensured that my food came out correctly and didn’t make it seem like I was asking for too much (unlike serves in the past)! Now that’s GREAT service! She also is hilarious and she is a ball of energy! I will be back soon, and I only want Toi as a server moving forward! Thank you again, Toi!“

“Came here on a sister date and was not disappointed! Free parking which is an extra plus! The decor for Halloween was great! Definitely added spice to the atmosphere! Angela, the owner, is great, super friendly and personable! I had the Carmel apple pie cocktail and pumpkin spice White Russian and they both were tasty drinks! They also decorate for the holidays so I will be back to check it out! Highly recommend on checking this tap house out!“
“Awesome spot not far from the strip district, yet far more quiet and featuring quite vast amount of space both indoors and outside.
Brewery often has a food truck, but is walking distance from other food options if you want something from a different menu.
Beers are great, and I would say rival and best some across the river from Dancing Gnome. I am a fan of a NEIPA and their options feature a greatly hazy and full of flavor profile.
This brewery also mails the classics such as their malty Maibock and refreshing Kölsch!

“I wanted to give a shout out to the staff at Recon. We had a get together there to visit my daughter and her children while they were in town. I originally thought we would have 20 people, but it was more like 25. We are a big, noisy family and they were wonderful! The food and drinks were amazing! Our waitress, Morgan, was exceptional! “Small chill space with flavorful beers. Enjoyed the Cream Ale, Mango Sour, Lupulin IPA, and Rubus Raspberry Sour. The Lupulin was delicious - a hint of hops with smooth finish. The mango sour had subtle tartness and a full body. Friendly Bartender.“

“Welcome to Millvale, Burghers!! Such a great addition to our town! I had the “The Strip” burger 🍔 with BBQ sauce instead of Ranch and Rosemary fries 🍟 and it was probably one of the best burgers and fries I’ve had in a very long time. The burger meat was seasoned to perfection and the fries had the perfect amount of rosemary. Can’t wait to try other stuff on the menu!“
