“Outstanding tour! Chris was an excellent guide and did a fantastic job walking us through the microbrewing process from start to finish. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand while still going into enough depth to keep even the more experienced folks in our group engaged. A few people with us are pretty knowledgeable about microbrewing, and Chris still managed to impress them with his expertise and enthusiasm. He made the whole experience fun, informative, and memorable. Highly recommend the tour. And, if you get Chris as your guide, you’re in for a great experience!“
“LOVE this place. The staff is always super nice. We love Holly, John, Jason, Laci, and Gina are fantastic. This is after 2 years of visiting. And the outdoor space is phenomenal. More than enough room for large groups. Also the beer is great, always. They have sours and ciders too. They deserve to be way busier than they are. Very dog friendly and have a fire going as well on cold days. YOU NEED LIVE MUSIC or a DJ on sundays. PLEASE“

“I never knew this place existed and happened to come in after tasting their Red Ale at a local restaurant. Wow! We sampled 4 beers, had a couple of pints, and was astonished at the quality of the beer. Why haven't we heard of Fire Whistle before?! We will be back. Do yourself a favor and try their beers... all right here, under-the-radar, and basically un-recognized in Elizabeth!“
“We rented Back Alley Brewing for a shower, and it was perfect! Lots of natural light, lots of tables, the cutest greenery draped across the ceiling, super friendly staff that was wonderful to work with, pretty affordable. Highly recommend! And I know I already said this, but Lee was just great to work with. He was responsive to emails, easy-going, and friendly. We rented out the right side of the brewery, which is a pretty segmented off room (but without doors). Our group was just under 40 people, and it was comfortable.“

“It is easy to miss but in the cultural eclectic North Side it is a great place to hang out. With complimentary pool tables and darts and a nice mix of eclectic beers and rustic simple tables it is the epitome of laid-back cool! Whether you're here with family or friends and want to kick back for a couple of hours, I can't imagine you'd find a better place in Pittsburgh to do it. And though we didn't indulge ,from what I saw the food looked like it would be very good also!“
“We hosted an adult's birthday party here and it couldn't have been better. I worked with Dominic on the party details and he was super accommodating and flexible. Very great experience! The taproom is super cool and a fun space. Our children were entertained by the games and outdoor space which made the day even better.
I think the prices are very reasonable too.
All in all I highly highly recommend Costar for events or just hanging out and having a beer.“
“Among my favorite breweries in Pittsburgh, and a great addition to the growing brew-culture in Verona / Oakmont area. They are unafraid to experiment with bold, delicious, and unique flavor profiles (I'm looking at you, Sichuan Peppercorn Rice Lager), but have all the staples across the spectrum of types of beer.
Great spot for a quiet hang, great beer, and friendly staff and patrons. Perfect addition to downtown Verona.“

“Pretty crazy backstory, but I had never been here before and my aunt won a contest to have a beer created and named after her rabbit.
We had a fairly large group there on release day, and the service was friendly and awesome.
I was particularly fond of their steel city lager, but the custom beer they made for my aunt was actually quite good. It was a cran-apple lager (which usually isn't my thing) but this one was quite drinkable.
The set-up in the back was quite picturesque. We were there in Mid-November, but I still found myself outside quite a bit enjoying the river views.
They had a partnership with a Kazak-guy in the kitchen who was another very nice fellow. I got his chicken parm sandwhich and it was 5 stars in itself. He came out and talked to us - Do not sleep on the food here.
I'm usually never in Verona, but this place in itself is a great reason to come back. It was a great day.“
“Awesome spot not far from the strip district, yet far more quiet and featuring quite vast amount of space both indoors and outside.
Brewery often has a food truck, but is walking distance from other food options if you want something from a different menu.
Beers are great, and I would say rival and best some across the river from Dancing Gnome. I am a fan of a NEIPA and their options feature a greatly hazy and full of flavor profile.
This brewery also mails the classics such as their malty Maibock and refreshing Kölsch!
I recommend the trip, great stuff!“

“I frequent this restaurant often. I came in last week and requested a few items substituted on my salad due to dietary restrictions. Toi ensured that my food came out correctly and didn’t make it seem like I was asking for too much (unlike serves in the past)! Now that’s GREAT service! She also is hilarious and she is a ball of energy! I will be back soon, and I only want Toi as a server moving forward! Thank you again, Toi!“

“Small chill space with flavorful beers. Enjoyed the Cream Ale, Mango Sour, Lupulin IPA, and Rubus Raspberry Sour. The Lupulin was delicious - a hint of hops with smooth finish. The mango sour had subtle tartness and a full body. Friendly Bartender.“

“Welcome to Millvale, Burghers!! Such a great addition to our town! I had the “The Strip” burger 🍔 with BBQ sauce instead of Ranch and Rosemary fries 🍟 and it was probably one of the best burgers and fries I’ve had in a very long time. The burger meat was seasoned to perfection and the fries had the perfect amount of rosemary. Can’t wait to try other stuff on the menu!“
