These place is so good not only for breakfast with a nice open view also for take away. Sweet are super good and chocolate cake unbelievable!!! Don’t hessitate to pick up your pastry after getting of the bus in Appolonia.
When I first came to Sifnos, working on my book about the 'Cyclades', I regularly used to stay at the hotel 'Anthousa' above the 'Gerontopoulos Café', then my breakfast place. For my later visits to Sifnos I moved to a hotel by the Kamares beach. Back again to the 'Gerontopoulos', together with my wife, we sat on the covered terrace facing the road and the sea. Have visited the cafe on the 19th of August to buy some treats for take away. Have bought two packets of mantolato, traditional finger sweet. Have to admit that it was delicious. I regret I did not buy some other treats to try!! Mantolato has been very fresh and tasty. There is variety of many products. There is parking for one car in front of the cafe, at the main road of Apollonia. Staff has been very friendly. Good job Gerontolopoulos team!!!
